This book is probably the best book that I've ever read! It is a story about a young girl, Shiyo, and how she becomes a prominent geisha. Although Chiyo, renamed Sayuri later on in the story, is a fictional character, the information on the lives of how geisha lived before and after WWI is all true. It is a deffinite must read for anyone who enjoys the old Japan.

Saw the movie, and if i hadn't have read the book, i would've liked it alot more. but the book goes far deeper under Sayuri's skin than the movie did.
I need to read it again ><

I read the book and I just didn't like the ending . She should of gone with Nobu - san instead of the chairman. >_< Nobu took such good care of her and she just abandoned him! Why Chiyo - chan, why!? >_<
