Random question I know but for all you people from UK, a nickle (5cents) is about the size of a 2p piece and a dime (10 cents) is about the size of 5p piece......................I think

lol thanks easy...a nickel is 5 cents and i dime is 10....half of one dime equals a nickel...so half a truck equals a full truck..right? yay!

yes, it seems the more logical-ish answer, to me.

would be they are the same, as renaki explained.
the trunk is FULL of nickels and only HALF full of dimes.

therefore it would seem the same...

but you have to take in concideration, dimes are smaller, more dimes could fit into half of the trunk then nickles would in the whole trunk.

The dimes would be worth more.

Physically, nickels are bigger so there would be fewer of them relative to dimes, within the parameters of your question.

But the real extra value would be in the silver content of the dimes.

Nickels don't have any silver. Dimes do. They are worth more that way also. ^^
