Staring in the mirror
the glass begins to break.
Pieces fall, shattering on the floor.
My reflection no longer whole.
A tiny piece of glass
ricashes off the rest.
Flashing out of sight
and a sting I feel on my cheek.
Red fills the mirror now
and I feel my heart contract.
Dripping away, it leaves an image
of a long forgotten day.
My breathing gets faster.
I feel light headed and weak.
Fears consume me
as I scream into the still air.
I catch my breath
and open my eyes.
The mirror is not the same.
Whole again and nothing changed.
Who am I really?
Who is this person staring back
at me in the reflection
of the mirror.

A mirror...just a mere reflection. What if the person we are looking at...isn't us? How do we know, when we dive deep into the mirror, that this is who we are? How do we know...how do we know...if it's just a reflection? I stare deep down in the image I see in the mirror, a different person emerges...now we will see...
Now we will see face-to-face...
Interesting piece, I like this very much. I hope I can hear more of you in the future.

Mirror reflects what you look like yet doesn't reflect your personality.
It's sort of like people. The mirror is the person looking at you.
But when you look at the mirror you see what they see.
When you close your eyes into your thoughts.......you see yourelf that no in the world can see but you.

Except for when you are blind to yourself when you close your eyes. Not seeing anything. Afraid to see.... The subject of my next poem....when I get it finished, I will post it.

Unconciously...some of us refuses to look deep within our hearts. To some people, closing your eyes will only bring darkness. Maybe we had a past experience, that we want to forget. Blackshadow said something like a mirror shows you what people see, about you. But what if you are different to some people? You can't judge a book by it's cover...we can't see people for who they are by just looking at them, we can only make assumptions. What builds character? What builds personality? We don't build this ourselves, we take on examples from people or everyday life. We are born in an enviorment, this enviorment will make us who we are; unless...that's not who we really are. We are born in to sin, but that's why we are alive...to atone for the mistakes that our fathers-father have made.
