When posting, take heed of a few pre-requites or the ‘foundation’ of a post (and as a result, the reply).
Make a post with something meaningful to it, something that allows someone else to respond with their own opinions.
Use good grammar….Nothing looks worse than ‘txt’ language, ‘cyu l8r’ or misspelled words. Fix this with a spell checker on word etc!
Don’t spam-tis the golden rule of everything on ACF!
Don’t post with regards to TORENT files or any other forms of downloadable medias-given most are illegal and we at ACF, do not wish to affiliate with these websites.
Don’t post with intent to slander or flame another member or organization; I’m all for ‘freedom of speech’ but not everyone wants to hear about your anal hemorrhaging and your distaste of homosexuals.
Try not to be immature on a serious topic, saying this, I don’t wish to destroy your freedom of joking but c’mon guys, some posts are serious. ^^
Try not to de-rail a topic. By this, if the topic subject is about cars, don’t blab on what you had for breakfast, by all means deviate from the topic if it is relevant to your point or argument but make a comment or statement if you don’t agree with the original suggestion.
When posting a question where you wish to see response, remember to ask, for the other members response and WHY, its important, as if someone replies a one liner the posts are boring and do not add to ACF, or offer much to anyone else. An example of this is: “What’s your favorite anime?”
Good response: My favorite anime is Cowboy bebop, as it is just the right size in episodes, I love the themes and the music is well composed, the director does a great job and the fighting scenes are smooth and flow perfectly, it is in my opinion the best anime ever!
Why is that a good response? The writer is covering vast areas of the anime and shows his/her knowledge of the anime, offers reason why it’s their favorite and it allows further discussion, for example, over the music.
Poor response: Cowboy bebop.
Why is this poor response? It is a one-liner, boring to read and most importantly, it offers no insight to the poster and why it’s their favorite anime.
Follow these guidelines and everyone will be happy, merry and ACF will be better for all, heck, you might even get a free t-shirt!
