Hi all,
vBulletin has identified an issue with passwords in the forum and made a patch. The patch was already applied, but before it can take effect members must rebuild their password hashes. To do so, all you have to do is change your password to something else from what you have now. After that you are free to re-change it back to the old one.

This applies to all members, but most of all, the ones which have the same username and password with admin rights on other sites.

For more information, read this (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?346486-Security-Fix-Releases-3.7.7-and-4.0.2-PL-2).

Thank you.

It's probably not necessary for every member of the forum to respond to this thread just to announce that they've changed their password.

done it. Should only apply to mods/admins

said, "all members." didn't say anything about anyone making any post here or not. if was restrictive, then should have clarified that. or locked the bloody thing. or kept the ann. in the mods section. ya think?

edit #1

And, as it happens, I am Admin on another site! w/out this announcement, I wouldn't have known.

edit #2

Is also recommended that EVERYONE follow the link FlashD gave. They are very clear about ALL MEMBERS! *hrmpf*

edit #3

seems like instead of arguing about this thing, and yakkety about who should, shouldn't, blah, blah, blah, it would be more constructive to just thank FlasD for staying on top of things and giving us notice. ya think?
