Hey can everyone please help me? You see I hate it when an anime never finishes such as D. Gray Man. Yes it did have an ending but it wasn't truly the end because he still had many enemies. They all continue on manga but I do not like reading manga, so can everyone please list animes that do not finish in the anime but continue in the manga.

p.s. i hope this makes sense hahaha

There are a lot more of those than you can imagine. You might want to specify the genre at least. Also, not all stories that don't finish in the anime feel as incomplete as something like D.Gray-Man. There are series like Natsume Yuujinchou or Mushishi that don't tell the entire story but have a sense of completeness. And then there are those with original endings; sometimes it works, and sometimes it just ruins the whole thing. Personally, i prefer the anime to be cut abruptly instead of ending in a way that would make half of the manga events untrue, but it does work sometimes.

yes true i see your point. mushishi and hunter x hunter end in cool ways. yes it does not have an ending but its good. not like d. gray man which pisses me off. also i am currently watching 0-7 Ghost and i am on episode 16 and it does not seem that he will kill all the big bosses. ****SPOILER***** it just seems that he will end the bishop exam and thats it. ****END SPOILER***** oh and the genre i dont really care just all

Umineko No Naku Koro Ni - the anime leaves out huge amounts of information you need to make sense of the series, and just stops abruptly with no ending. I was thinking "Why did I waste my time watching this?"

There is a spoiler tag.... [ spoiler ] spoiler goes here [ /spoiler ] (no spaces)
Thankfully what you posted was not really a spoiler. And i also doubt 07-Ghost will get too much deeper into the main plot. The end of the exam seems like a reasonable finish point for the series; i just hope they won't come up with a cliffhanger.

I'll give a few then that have really messed up endings, some are pretty much cliffhangers:

Zombie-Loan (cliffhanger, BUT i did not watch the OVA, so maybe there is some additional info there)

Hatenkou Yuugi (cruel cliffhanger)

Amatsuki (T_T WHY. They were following the main plot nicely, then suddenly diverged into a side story, and the end of that side story was the end of the anime altogether. The main plot just got lost.)

Hakushaku to Yosei (This one's ending is pretty ridiculous. They finally got to the bad guy and just ended it there. I think i whined about it in my review too.)

Saiunkoku Monogatari (Both seasons have no definite ending and leave a gazillion questions. I'm still hoping for 3rd season, but i honestly don't know. Although i would recommend this one regardless.)

Legend of Basara (in case anyone likes to dig out old series.. it was an exciting story that did not end, and the manga is 5x longer -_-)

Loveless (only touched the surface of the story, not even.)

Monochrome Factor (... Just don't watch it. They pretty much fool around for 20 episodes, and then in the remaining 4 try to pull out something that resembles a plot, and fail badly. This could have been a good series, but it turned into a bunch of randomness, fanservice, and just plain wtfery.)

Petshop of Horrors (It is episodic, but being only 4 episodes, you can guess that we get zero information on the main character. Worth watching though.)

Skip Beat (This one just ended too soon. It does follow the manga closely though, so i do recommend it. And just read the manga afterward.)

Spiral (I guess it did have some sort of conclusion, but it did not answer the main question about the blade children, which was the whole point.)

Trinity Blood (Lots and lots of questions remaining. A huge cast and most of the characters remained under-developed or not developed at all.)

Whether you watch these or not is up to you. Most of them are among my favorites, so i don't know. Let me know if you have specific questions about them. Or i can maybe list a few series that -do- have an ending, they would probably be easier to find lol.

lol you're welcome i guess. Trinity Blood is beautifully done; very unfortunate that it never got an ending, in anime or manga/novel v.v Disappointed, yes, but did not regret watching it.

if it's lists you want then I shall deliver!!

.Hack//-takes this to absurd levels alternating between anime, manga, novel, and videogame...constantly,doesn't help half are "What if" scenarios

Black Cat-But on the plus side you need to look at both to see all XIII Time Guardians lol

Negima-Honestly can't stand it to the point I won't watch them, each anime is a reboot and only has the first arc in common with the manga and none of what interests me. The various anime are primarily harem, but the manga is actually a shounen with some harem mixed in.

Shakugan no Shana-When it first came out i thought it was the greatest thing, but now thier just milking it. It's not supposed to be a high school romance series but somehow that's what the anime turned it into.

Get Backers-For an anime only ending it could be the canonical ending and still work in my opinion. I was satisfied even before I knew it went on.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni-Unless you plan on reading a visual novel, good luck trying to interpret the ending. I wouldn't hold my breath on a sequal because they'd have to backtrack a little to include what they omitted for there to even be a sensical connection.

A Certain Scientific Railgun/Magical Index-Pretty much stops before the good part, but there is a season 2 in the works. Also, don't even bother with Railgun. They created it when the series was barely an arc long so literally kicked the lead out her own show for endless filler.

Anything by TYPE-MOON(Kara no Kyoukai,Fate/Stay Night,Fate/Unlimited Blade Works,Tsukihime)-Although Kara no Kyoukai actually works compared to the others. Fate/ isn't too bad,it's just that like Umineko it's too complex to be just 26 episodes, moreso when it is known to have multiple universes and biengs that can traverse them.

Fate/ also spans several "sub-series" the novel Fate/Zero,Fate/Kaleido,and the other 3 or 4 visual novels,as well as a few new novels. Tsukihime is similar albeit limited to just one sequal VN(technically) and all works have slight connections bieng in the same world.

Saiyuki-series 1 was awesome, series 2 was not so great, past that....well the plot was just gone in comparison and the cast seemed to just wander aimlessly instead of having a goal.

Xenosaga-Assuming you can somehow stand the horrid art to finish,it's a videogame trilogy, the anime bieng an adaptation of part 1 only.

Soul Eater-Y'know how the plot is to make a deathscythe? Well yea,the anime doesn't go that far and gives a very stupid way for the lead to defeat the antagonist when she literally doesn't have the power to be anything more then a blade of grass to him. Also creates an anime only plot point it doesnt elaborate on,but aside from that I give it high marks.

Soul Hunter-It's a comedic parody of itself to tell the truth, the manga is much much darker but I did love the anime nonetheless. Feel free to watch it if you want an idea of how the manga is.

Chrono Crusade-A unique case in that I prefer the anime version overall despite it cutting things short, but at the same thing like certain aspects of the manga.

Slayers-Technically anime started making things up after season 2,but TRY comes from an era where filler was so good it was considered canon(and it fits the rules of the slayers setting),season 4 and 5...wow,in comparisan the animators try to make past antagonists threatening when they just are too weak to threaten the protaganists,as another person once said "You can't make an anime on nostalgia alone" and seemed to forget the slayers world had around 30-40 different spells, not 11 or so.

well that's all i can think of off the top of my head. Hope that helps, sorry for getting rambly on TYPE-MOON and slayers, that's my love talking. Long story short, these days any anime based on a novel is most likely just going to be a preview of the work to get you interested or be too short to do it justice.

Lalala... let's see.

Watched Zombie-Loan OVA, still a cliffhanger, damn them.

Shinrei Tantei Yakumo. The classical "villain is still around somewhere" ending. Somehow feels complete though, but yeah.

Not sure if StarWind ever finished 07-Ghost, but he was pretty much right about it ^^; I'd love another season to this, but at least it isn't a cliffhanger.

Ashita no Nadja. Stay very far away from this one.
The worst case of unresolved love triangle ever.
Worst thing? There's no manga/novel that it was based on. Anime is the original. It just ends, and you keep guessing forever. So disappointed. Loved it so much, but the ending killed it.

Recently finished Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru (Betrayal Knows My Name). Can be added to the list of anime which end with "the bad guys are still out there, and some day we'll have that final battle". And manga is nowhere near being done. Sigh.
