Introduction (optional):

I found the manga on a website. I read the title "The World God Only Knows" and it caught my attention. It was better than what I expected.

Plot and Setting/Story: 7/10

A new hell has been established. But some spirits from the old hell have ran away from it and came to the human world. These spirits hide in women's hearts, creating a gap in them that must be filled in before they have the opportunity to reincarnate within that body. For filling the gaps, the new hell has created a special unit that must capture those runaway spirits. Here enters Elsee, a devil who has been assigned a human partner, a man known as the "capturing god". Katsuragi Keima is that man. But there is a problem: he hates real life women. But, wanting it or not, Keima now has the obligation to help Elsee, or else they will cut off his head. But for a cold-hearted guy like him, completing this mission will be difficult, because for filling the gaps, he must make the women fall in love with him.

I read 'harem' manga before, but this is the most original one of all of them. Although, it is actually pretty simple, without much serious stuff going on. Also, the plot progression its pretty slow; the first 20-30 chapters are mostly comic relief and introduction of the -huge- character cast. Later the series starts to slowly reveal that there is something more mysterious going on than what we are expecting. I like the plot, it's very funny, but I cannot give it more than a 7.

Characters/Character Development: 9/10

Keima starts out as someone who is only interested in 2D girls and dating simulators, appearing cold, serious, and calculative toward everything else. However, as the story progresses, we can see him growing and learning that there is more out there than just games. Elsee is the opposite of Keima; she is simple-minded, clumsy, friendly, and somewhat dumb. The two of them share a brother-sister relationship throughout the current story.

This is the part I like the most about this manga. I like how every character has his/her own personality. I love that Keima is such an atypical protagonist, and that he doesn't seem to be at all romantically involved with Elsee, the female lead. I also love how all the other girls in the story are all different. You can find a rich girl, a teacher, a yandere (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yandere#Y), a tsundere (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsundere), a younger girl, a split-personality girl, etc. And Keima has to find a right "route" toward the heart of each one. It's pretty funny seeing the heartless Keima having to deal with different types of relationships.

Art: 7/10

I think that the art is extremely cute. But on the other hand, always seeing the same cute faces and perfect bodies angers me sometimes. I would like to see an ugly girl or an ugly boy every once in a while, or at least someone more ordinary.

Additional Comments or Warnings (optional):

The plot is simple, but it won't disappoint you. The story is addictive, and you can fall in love easily with the characters. It's worth a read; I recommend it.

Overall Manga Rating: 8/10
