The Castle Beyond the Darkness

the castle rises from ground to sky ten stories high piercing the nights gray clouds just about to kiss the first star. the garden surrounding its magnificently constructed walls are bright and radiant with a multitude of many unknown flowers and trees. in the back lies a lake lined with many moon flowers that glow vibrantly in the front a trail lined with many canopy trees lays in wait for visits to arrive. the front door made of the most elegantly crafted wood stands 20 feet high and 30 feet wide and if you look up and stare closely at the 5 level you may see something staring back at you. as you enter your greeted by a breath taking fountain sculpted by master artisans beautiful crystal and gold chandler that hangs over head. if you look to your left and then to your right you will see the stairs which are lined with solid gold banisters and leading up those stairs are many of the most luxurious master bedrooms, and bathrooms. continuing through the second arch way leads you into the hall that guides you into the many other parts of the castle one being the ball room that has a magnificent half crystal dome over it with many candles that never burn out lighting it the floor is made of celestial marble so smooth you cold ski in your socks across it. the next room is the dining room and in the middle lays a well crafted mahogany table lined with many chairs. the door in the back lead to the kitchen that has many of the finist tools made for cooking and a giant fridge that is very abundent with food for people and their mystical pets. the third room is the library which is covered completely with books from the very bottom up to the tenth story. the fourth room is the living quarters that has a wonderful marble fireplace and many chairs for relaxing and for those who love to play around and have fun the door to the right of this room leads straight into the game room which has every video games and systems known in exsitance also many top of theline computers , and a bouncy house. lastly there is a door that lays on the other side of the living quarters that leads strieght into the first, second and third floors of the basement last floor containing many secrets, the second being a place for weapons and magical instruments alike and the first room which is used for training or other such things.

laying inside his bouncy house Demon was reading a rather interesting book of magical spells and incantations. " well this looks like it'd be fun to use..." he looks at a little ball on the floor outside of the bouncy house and gazes at it before speaking an incantation "feltori aktravo drakonis" he spoke again with a magical echo and watched the ball for a second it shook and then just laid there " damn i guess this one is a dub." he said with a great sigh and layed down again putting the book onto his face. soon he felt something crawling on him slowly until it was close to his face it made a little cat like sound and nuzzled his chin he slowly removed the book and looked up to see alittle baby dragon staring him in the face " yes it worked he said taking the little guy in his hands and hugging it.

Three figures made their way down the tree-lined path. Two were elven faeries, and the other was an animal.

The taller, dark-skinned figure was wearing something similar to an archer's attire; it echoed the colors of the earth and its lush vegetation. Her gray eyes, peeking out from dark bangs, scanned the humongous building the party was slowly approaching. A golden necklace hung around her neck, a form that she had asked her Cape to take. Small, delicate blue-tinted wings fluttered once in a while as she walked.

The shorter figure had pale skin, which was akin to the color of a pearl, and wore a dark-blue tunic with cloth boots. Similarly colored eyes were wide with curiosity behind a curtain of white hair. Small wings tinted silver had more animation than those of her companion. Her hand rested against the side of the beast that walked alongside her.

Said beast was a large white tiger adorned with black stripes, the most striking on the face. The tiger was male, and had blazing blue eyes. Though his expression was fierce, he seemed at ease around the smaller girl, content with her hand at his side.

The pale girl spoke to her comrade, or, to be more accurate, her sister.

"Do you know who lives here, Raine?"

"No, Elva. I've never traveled to this area before."

"Let's hurry and find out. Come on, Upendi!"

Elva giggled and took off running down the path. Upendi smoothly took off after his charge. Raine chuckled to herself and continued walking at a leisurely pace.

laughing and playing with his new little dragon friend demon stoped in mid bounce and looked at the door leadfin out of the game room" i sense three presences approaching." the little dragon hopped onto demons shoulder and fixxed his gaze in the same direction as he responded with a little sound that resembled a tiny kitten " i see you can feel them too.." demon leaped from the bouncy house and sped to his front door " let us greet our guest my little friend."

Elva and Upendi reached the front door a good while before Raine. Elva, waiting until her sister caught up to knock, looked at the garden, marveling at the variety of flowers. She was also slightly in awe of the overall magnificence of the tall building.

"There's a lot to explore here, isn't there, Upendi?"

The tiger growled good-naturedly, and Elva petted his fuzzy head. She soon heard footsteps, and looked up to see Raine looking around as well.

"Isn't this place huge, Raine? I wonder how many people live here? It would be lonely if you lived by yourself. All this refinement wouldn't mean much if you were the only one to look at it."

Raine simply nodded as her little sister walked up to the door and knocked as hard as she could. Elva wanted to make sure that whoever was inside would hear her. Upendi followed after Elva, protectively sitting by her side as the younger elven-faerie waited for an answer.

Raine finally made her way to the front door as well, and casually crossed her arms over her chest as she waited with her sister.

The yard itself is ornate...I wonder what it looks like inside.

Despite the splendor of the building before her, Raine couldn't help missing her forest home. The connection she felt to said home in her heart beat in time with the life-giving muscle, easing the slight heartache that she had felt.

demon looked at his little dragon friend and smiled wickedly as he inched alittle closer to him " you ready buddy?" he asked acting rather mischievousl. the little dragon nodded likewise in answer to the question and popped into thin air demon smiled with glee as his and Tera's little greeting started. out side the door where the faries stood waiting to get a response tera popped onto the neck of the giant tiger that was with them witha little dragon smile tera gleefully hopped onto the tigers head and made a little cat like sound

Upendi growled when he felt something appear on his neck. His growl increased in ferocity when he felt a tiny creature crawl up his head; though it made a cat-like sound, Upendi knew that it wasn't a feline.

"Upendi, calm down! It's just a tiny dragon."

After Elva spoke to Upendi, he stopped growling, but still made it very clear that he would like said dragon off of his head. Elva carefully picked up the baby dragon and held it close to her.

"Hey there, little one! Where did you come from?"

The pale elven-faerie gently petted the small dragon, a bright smile on her face. Raine stepped closer to her sister, and saw the baby dragon that she held.

"Hmm...I really do wonder where the little guy came from. Maybe from whoever lives inside?"

Raine turned toward the building again, her curiosity increasing.

"so this is the house..." A girl of a somewhat smaller stature approached. She had blonde hair that sparkled in the sunlight and bright blue eyes that looked like ice.

with dark mist arising out side demon decided to make his big entrance and greet them all rising like a phantom from a portal " hello one and all i am the master of this castle which you all stand before and that is my little friend tera." as he spoke teras name the little dragon disappeared with a poof and reappeared on demons shoulder. stroking the spine of the little dragon gently demon spoke once more " i welcome all who have ventured here to my home and may your visit be made witha most satisfied enjoyment." and as mysteriously as demon had came he went with a crack and as such the huge door swung ever so gently open inviting in the guests.

"tera didn't you see i made an awesome entrance." he said so gleefully as the little dragon replied with a little cat like sound in approval.

Elva simply stared at where the master of the castle had been moments ago. After a while, her gaze drifted to the open door. A smile returned to her lips.

"Let's go, Upendi! Come on, Raine!"

The little elven-faerie ran inside, the white tiger not far behind her. Raine had been about to follow her sister when she saw the new arrival. She was interested in how the woman's eyes were the same color as ice. Raine watched her pet the black panther, and a mysterious/mischievous smile graced her lips.

"Hello."

That was all she said before walking inside.

demon and tera watched as the guest entered and without thought they both slide on the banister and jumped infront of their new guests " hello one and all welcome to my home you are very welcome to stay if you wish and you may also play if you like which ever suits you is fine with us." as he finished his welcome to the group demon bowed to them all and smiled mischievously.

The girls eyes sparkled as Shane who was caught totalyl off gaurd growled threateningly. "easy girl" she pat her head gently and the growling ceased...8tell him not to do that anymore* she grolwed to her. The girl went up to him. "thank you" she curtised."i am Stargazer....but you can call me Star...and this is Shane.." she gestured to the panther.."you'll have to excuses her you startled her a bit earlier" she grinned

Raine was bit surprised when she saw the man from earlier slide down the banister. Like the panther, Upendi hadn't liked the sudden entrance either, and growled from his place beside Elva. The younger elven-faerie's eyes were wide with curiosity, and she gently stroked the tiger's head to calm him. Once Upendi was content, she bowed in turn to the man before her.

"Thank you, kind master!"

She stood once more and smiled at him and the young woman who she just discovered was named Star.

"My name is Elva! My protective friend and guardian here is Upendi, and this tall person next to me is Raine."

Raine smiled and inclined her head in greeting. Upendi simply watched the goings-on, making sure that his charge was safe within this unknown place.

demon and tera both laughed and spoke as one this time " we are sorry for our rather unlikely appearance from no where it was rude of us but we just love making an entrance." tera jumped from demons should and walked up to raine and gently nudged her then the same to elva and star. now tera spoke by himself in a timid child like voice" welcome new friends and four-legged companions alike it is my pleasure and my masters as well to invite you all to stay with us for this home of ours is open to you as well" demon smiled brightly and chuckled lightly

tera and demon looked at each other and laughed tera speaking in his little child like voice " well surely you know demon is the master here not i for i am only his little dragon buddy." demon smiling widely with satisfaction " indeed you are tera." he said as he picked the little dragon up and hugged him.

Upendi, being a gruff tiger of very few words, simply turned toward Shane and nodded as a response. He didn't seem to mind the panther's company, as he would have growled otherwise. His tail flicked as he watched the master of the castle, and possibly waited for Shane to say or do something. Sometimes it was hard to tell with Upendi.

Raine smiled at the master and Tera.

"Thank you for the hospitable invitation."

Elva echoed her sister's statement, looking about the castle, wondering about what lie deep within the numerous hallways.

tera and demon both in unison smiled at their new guests and bowed again. demon speaking as he started to stroke tera spine " you all may wonder about as you wish but i shall ask you all be careful may creature of myth and legend live within these walls but all are rather nice and well mannered but if they feel threatened at all they will not think twice before lunging at anyone." his face grew very grim with that last note and then tera spoke up as if taking demons place in the guide lines of the castle" well that may be true but theres reason they live here not just because of masters love for them but other thing for which he likes to keep secret..." demon soon cut tera off sharply" tera shhh....um well uh, if you all would like to you may wonder around the castle grounds just two request if you go up these stair do not go beyond the 8th floor and if you reach the study do not go through the left door unless you ask." he said laughing

Upendi sat contentedly next to Elva, having no interest in the off-limits doors that the master spoke of. However, the same couldn't be said for the elven-faeries. Raine and Elva were thinking about ways to get to those doors, but Raine soon dropped the idea...or at least put it to rest for the time being. Elva's curiosity was evident in her eyes, but she controlled herself.

"I think a look around the gardens would be nice. Is that all right?"

Raine spoke to the master of the castle. She suddenly had an overwhelming urge to gaze at flowers. Elva had different plans.

"I just want to explore!"

With that, the pale elven-faerie shot off down a hallway, seemingly going toward what could have been the dining room. Upendi followed close behind, ready to protect his eager charge. Raine chuckled, but remained alert.

tera and demon both smiled and bowe slightly" well of course milady the gardens are this way." demon gestured as he walked off down the hall with raine behind him. tera popped onto stars head and smiled a little dragon smile" well miss star may we explore or would you like to follow master demon and miss raine...or perhaps miss elva to the dining room?" he asked in his cute child like voice.

Star sighed and looked around the floors all the way up to the eighth,where she paused. "He said not to go past here.." she thought..."by why?" the mystery surrounding the next floors intrigued her further..She sensed a strong spiritual pressure coming from that floor which told every hair and fiber on her body not to go but she really wanted to.

Raine smiled at the master of the castle, then settled for silently looking around. She heard faint footsteps, and saw a black panther following her and the master of the castle.

Ahh, that's the panther I saw with Star earlier. Shane.

She inclined her head to the feline as a way of greeting as she continued to follow the master of the castle. After a while, she broke the silence.

"I'm sorry, sir, but I don't think I caught your name earlier."

Curiosity with a hint of mysteriousness colored her voice. Raine may seem strange, but it is simply her nature. She tends to be more at ease within the forests.

Meanwhile, Elva had found her way into the game room and was currently jumping around the bouncy house. Upendi was comfortably laying on his stomach, amusement in his eyes as he watched Elva somersault through the air.

"I wish you could do this, Upendi! Whoo-hooo!"

The pale elven-faerie laughed, earning a content growl from the white tiger.

he stopped a second in the hall with a twinkle in his eyes and a smileon his lips "oh." he said with a bow " i am terribly sorry miss raine not properly telling you my name. the name i go by is demon, but i do have a real name but i like going by this once it makes things seem more...oh i dunno more magical i suppose." he replied with a humble smile as they continued down the hall.

Raine chuckled.

"Magical, huh? It is interesting."

Her smile was genuine as she continued to follow the master of the castle down the hallway.

Meanwhile, Elva had left the game room, and explored whatever room interested her, until she found herself standing next to Star.

"Hello, Star! Were you pulled to this place too?"

Elva smiled as she petted Upendi's head; she was currently on his back.

"There's something beyond this point; I know you can sense it too."

A mischievous glint entered Elva's eyes.

"yeah i was...the man showed himself around town though i had never known that anyone lived in this old place." star shivered emmence quantities of power streamed from the man next to her and the little girl on top. "well yeah..i think there something beyond here...but the man who owns this house said not to pass this level..." she sighed

demon smiled in return to raine as they continued onwards to the ballroom which lead out to the gardens " oh please don't mind the ballroom i love these types of places to be covered in rather extraordinary lavish."

on the top most floor the power kept there was stirring wanting its master to return and take it all into his body it stirred so much it begun to send out waves of power only ment for demon to feel

She looked around the ballroom, taking in its elegance and appreciating the detail that went into it.

"It's been so long since I've been in a ballroom..."

Raine murmured the last sentence to herself, reminiscing a bit. She returned her gaze to Demon and smiled.

"Sorry...lead the way."

With Elva and company, the pale elven-faerie and tiger didn't sense anything from beyond where they were. Said elven-faerie tilted her head in thought, much like her sister did, and a worried expression was etched into her features.

"Are you all right, Miss?"

demon smiled brightly and bowed humbly a generously as he kept moving towards the garden. soon before they reached the crystal door demon sensed the surge of power the was locked away, but with a slight hesitation he opened the crystal door out into the garden.
"i do hope you will enjoy the garden." keeping his humble smile on his face as not to worry her.

Elva watched Star for a moment, and then looked down at Upendi.

"Come on, Upendi. Let's keep exploring!"

She glanced at the corridor before her, but instead urged her guardian to continue along the floor they were already on. After Upendi had walked a few steps, Elva looked back at Star.

"Miss? Would you like to come with us? If we end up finding ourselves back at this spot, then it was meant for us to explore!"

Elva smiled and petted Upendi's head.

Raine sensed something off about Demon's behavior, but decided that it was best not to comment about it. Instead, she smiled back at him.

"Thank you, Demon."

She glanced down at the panther that had followed her before walking out in the midst of the flourishing fauna. Raine made her way over to a cluster of flowers that had unusual coloring, and leaned into the plant life to see what scent this particular specimen had.

It's very peaceful here, and the plants are thriving. I'm glad.

demon chuckled faintly and bent down beside her "those are moon roses beautiful are they not?" he asked with a voice of curiosity.

terra was not far from the highest floor when the surge of energy was sent out like a electric pulse. whispering to her self " oh no i hope master demon is alright..."

She gently nudged Upendi to follow Star, and the tiger obliged.

She doesn't seem like herself.

smiling brightly to mask his worry he chuckled with delight "oh thank you i do try my hardest to keep them all nice and lively..." he looked around for the other types of flowers that loomed over head "ah, found them." he said as he pointed up the the hovering nightlacs.

Terra in a panic grab star by her collar and with her might tried to get her from going anymore closer to the source of energy " no miss please don't.....i need help over here!" she said as she tried harder to keep star from moving.
