Horror is my first choice. Comedy is good too. I find drama to be fantastically boring, /hack literally put me to sleep.

Girly fantasy stuff, like Oh! My Goddess, but I like funny, light hearted ones like Excel Saga. The silly ones that you could only think up with the wildest imagination. I've watched NGE and FMA but even though they're good they aren't my choice in anime. I still want to watch all of Fruits Basket, and I have watched Cowboy Bebop and enjoyed it, maybe because of the art and humour. Another one I like is Pretear, even though it's pretty much the same thing each episode.

Fantasy, Romance, Drama, Action, Comedy, Supernatural, Magic, Music, MindF**k,
Shoujo, Shounen, and Shounen-ai
Those that have comedy, yet can manage to have a serious plot. I like shounen more than shoujo. Eventhought i like when there's romance, and not only fighting all the time.

I'm pretty much open to anything, but I love slice of life, drama, fantasy, and action the best. I'm very particular when it comes to romance and comedy.

I watch it all until I one gets to the point where I drop it. However, even if I don't like it, I usually finish what I start.

Thought I posted here. Weird.
I like almost anything really. It's not difficult to impress me, but also not difficult to tick me off. Harsh toward fan service. Don't mind it so much in a silly story, but when it distracting, then it pisses me off big time. Could do without it in both Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann; would have likely given both these series a 10/10. I also can't stomach graphic violence, but probably wouldn't deduct points for that. But again, it has to be there for a reason, not just showing limbs flying around on every opportunity (hello, Tokko and Gantz). Same with bed scenes, I'm fine if it's appropriate to the plot. If you can do without it and still show whatever you're trying to show, please do without it.
I love quality drama and tragedy. Something like Toward the Terra or Gungrave, something that really touches the heart and pulls you into the characters' world. Not something disgustingly fake like Kimi ga Nozomu Eien where I didn't shed a single tear despite being very emotional when it comes to watching anything. Has to be realistic, and I don't mean setting-wise, otherwise it's just laughable.
Sports and games. Or anything with competition involved. Kaleido Star (circus/gymnastics) and Yakitate!! JaPan (cooking contest thing) are in this category according to me. Prince of Tennis is one of my all-time favorites. Akagi was fantastic and I don't know a thing about mahjong. Pretty much if I had time, I'd watch everything in that genre. Except cheap crap like Saki.
Slice of life. I'm like the biggest fan of slice of life genre. Dialogue driven slow paced series with no particular plot that just show a portion of somebody's life. I could watch that stuff forever. Of course, it has to be well thought out, otherwise it will be just boring. Honey & Clover is the king of slice of life in my book. Aria series as well. Some have argued that Aria isn't of this genre because it displays a futuristic fictional setting, but you know what... if Aria isn't slice of life, then nothing is slice of life.
Ancient Japan/Ancient China. Another big weakness. All the culture and clothes and romance and warriors and political conspiracies, love it. Throw in some youkai or shikigami and turn it into historical fantasy -- even better. Saiunkoku Monogatari, Shounen Onmyouji, Otome Youkai Zakuro... and many more.
Going with the previously mentioned old times setting, I love Victorian setting as well (England, France...). Again, clothes, romance, conspiracies. But can't group it with old Japan/China obviously. Le Chevalier D'Eon is the first title that comes to mind, one of my all-time favorites. Loved the subtle romance subplot as well.
Now adding to fantasy, folklore. Japanese folklore specifically. I guess I should say Japanese folklore and Japanese mythology as well (and any mythology... I do like everything, why am I even typing this!). Something like Natsume Yuujinchou or Mushishi, which are both also lovely representatives of slice of life. Yami no Matsuei had an interesting take on involving mythical beasts, too bad it didn't continue.
Romance, you saw this one coming. Despite shounen and seinen being my main preferences, I'm a sucker for romance. You shouldn't be around me when I watch romance anime, I get all giddy and excited, it's disturbing really >_> *cough* Kinda wish there was more anime with romance story lines that are not set in middle/high school and explore first love/kiss etc. As much as I love it, it does get slightly repetitive, predictable almost. I'd love to see more romance with adults or at least not in school environment. Like, Nana. Or Hanasakeru Seishounen. Or Saiunkoku Monogatari. And please, spare me unresolved love triangles. It's the lamest ending you can come up with, and it looks like authors got lazy or didn't bother to think of a solution. I could name a couple disappointing romance series, but shall not spoil. Oh, and The One needs to become an anime, I don't care that it's Korean >.>
Mystery. Yeeeees. Detectives, investigations, unexpected plot twists, whatever will hurt my brain the most. I like both the type that focuses on the "who did it?" question, as well as the type that focuses on the "why". Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro for example had rather obvious cases where you can see the culprit right away, but it takes more time to explore the reasons behind the crimes. On the other hand, Ayatsuri Sakon focused on the actual investigation process. Both are excellent shows. My all-time favorite is of course Monster.
Mindf-ck. I'm picky though. If it's plain idiocy that isn't even supposed to make sense and just makes you go "what the hell", then I'll pass. But something that's an effective psychological thriller kind of thing, yes please. Mouryou no Hako and Mononoke yesss. You really have to turn on your brain (and patience) to fully understand these two though.
Okay, I'm kinda tired of this. I have a diverse taste.
