The System, Still Going Strong?
By Ryoko of Death
Chapter One The Trap
She looked up this was her big chance. Moira walked towards the doors and pulled it open. Moira daughter of Jasmine Harding and Bobby Sanders, she had grown up to be exactly like them. The charm of her father, the grace of her mother, the temper of them both. That wasn't her strong point, her anger would always get the best of her. Moira stared at the corridor wondering if she should or shouldn't do this. It was her big chance to become an actress. Her mother suddenly ran towards her. "Moira!"
She turned "Huh? Mom what are you doing here?" she asked
"I wanted to wish you good luck"
"Thanks." She hugged her and walked into the room. But somehow she knew, that this wasn't going to be very good. The doors slamed shut behind her. She turned around quickly and suddenly looked around the room.
Jasmine bangged on the doors trying to get in. "NO OPEN THIS DOOR! MOIRA!" she cried out. Bobby came up behind her.
"Jasmine?" he touched her shoulder
"She's trapped in there Bobby!" She said looking at him "My hunch was right! I knew this was a trap!"
"There's only one hope now. We have to call Celes and Zero. They can help us break through the doors." he said as he reached into his pocket. He took out the phone and pressed Celes' number.
"Celes we need you and Zero's help"
"Alright what do you need Bobby-Chan?" she asked as Zero walked up behind her
"Moira is traped in the other room. We can't break through the doors. If we use our power we could possably hurt her." he said a very distinct, deep voice reeping with slight anger.
"Alright we'll be there in two shakes and a bat of an eyelash" she said as she hung up the phone
"Jasmine they're on their way here." he looked towards where she was. She was on the ground an aura around her."Jasmine?" he was puzzeled
Her eyes widened blood leeking from past wounds.
"Uh oh that ain't good..." he started as her aura seemed to push him back "Celes and Zero better get here soon, before she destroies the building and everyone in it"
Meanwhile inside the room Moira stood, looking, watching. A figure with long black hair steped out of the shadows. "I'm glad you came" The woman said
"Who are you? What do you want?" she asked she was a bit scared.
"I am Sable, hier to the earth kingdom. And you my dear girl are the hier to the sky kingdom, for that you must die." She said her purple eyes pieced into Moira's soul.
"Me? Hier to a throne, proposterious!"
"Well 'tis true you are. Yes, unfortunatly you had to be born of that wretch, Jasmine"
"Don't you dare talk about my mother like that!" Her anger was building. She loved her mother with all her heart. Jasmine was the only one who truly understood her. "You take that back witch!" she was ready to kill her
"Oh! I'm so scared!" she said sarcaticly. The ironicness reeping in her words
"Oh you should be! As soon as my mother and father come through that door you'll be in big trouble!"
"Well I don't know about your father, but I definatly know about your mother. You see as we speak she is trying to use her power. Unfortunatly for her all her old wounds are reopening. By the time you get out of here she would have bled to death" Sable said a smile forming.
"What do you mean reopening?" She was confused and that didn't happen too often
"That door is protected by black magic. Which means as she tries to use her own magic against it, well I can only say one thing... she won't last very long." Sable laughed
Moira couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her anger had gotten to it's peak. "You'll pay if she dies!"
As they spoke Jasmine bled unable to control her own anger. Bobby kneeled next to her trying to xstop the bleeding. For some unknown reason Jasmine wasn't feeling this at all. All until a major wound returned. Jasmine's eyes widened the same exact wound that she had received from that monster, otherwise known as Cajin. The wound that had killed her. Her heart was deminishing.
Bobby's eyes widened "Jasmine! No this can't be happening again" He screamed he himself was now at the peak of his anger. She was dying again, but this was somehow more painful then the first time. "Jasmine hang on please"
Moira heard her father scream out. She turned back towards the door. "Oh and one little fact about the magic." Sable said
"What?"
"Her pain is tripled from that of the first time they were issued to her."
Moira turned back to look at Sable "I have no choice now. I didn't want to do this at all, but it seems that I have to. I am Earth I am Sky." She began to chant
Sable looked at her with an eyebrow raised. 'What the hell?'
"I am Earth, I am Sky, I am Earth, I am Sky with the two you will die." she continued a blue-green aurora around her.
Bobby heard the chant and his eyes suddenly widened. He closed them "Jasmine..." He collapsed next to her. He held her body as he himself gave all his life energy to his daughter. He finally realized what Jasmine had planed. Jasmine had given her life to Moira so she could beat whatever was in there with her.
Chapter Two A New Enemy, a New Choosen One, and a New Help
Moira stood infront of Sable. Her green eyes set with determination. Moira knew her mother and father had just died to help her. She would not fail them, like she failed to save her uncles.
"So up for a fight little girl?"
"Always" Moira reached to her back and drew a sword. It appeared out of no where. Moira looked at Sable an icy gaze that would pierce into anyone's soul. She knew that Sable didn't have a soul. "Lets go right now." She said ready to lunge the sword into Sable.
"Alright" Sable ran towards her planing on raming into her.
She was ready for her. Moira lunged the sword into Sable's stomach. Sable disapeared
"I'll be back! You might have won this round but you won't win the next."
Moira fell to her knees droping the sword. A figure suddenly came out of the shadows. His feature light and handsome. His hair the color of dark blues and greens. He walked up to her and kneeled next to her. "You ok?" he asked his voice had the ability to melt any ice cold heart.
She looked at him a slight look of adoration in her eyes. 'Man he is cute!' she thought slightly "Yeah I'm ok." she replied
"You have to get out of here fast" he said a look of worry on his taned face
"Why?"
He sighed not wanting to explain why "Sable's shadow wariors are here waiting to attack"
"Then why don't they attack now"
"As long as I'm here they won't attack. You see I am Jared Anderson, Sable's son."
She didnt think it was possible. "If you're her son, how can I trust you? How do I know you won't turn on me at some point?"
"Don't worry the only person I'm turning on is my mother." He stood and held out his hand to her.
She took it and stood up. His grip on her hand was light and protecting. She for the first time in her life felt safe with someone other than her parents. They looked into eachother's eyes. They moved closer to eachother ready to kiss. When he snapped out of it "We have to go now"
She sighed "OK lead the way"
He ran off practically dragging her behind. The two ran into a field of fresh flowers. He stopped taking in a few breaths. He fell back and layied in the field. His body in a bit of pain.
She sat next to him and simply stared at the city. "Wow...the view here is beautiful."
"I go here all the time. It stared when my mom decided to find the choosen one and her family..." he trailed off suddenly feeling bad
She looked down "Why'd you choose me over your mother?"
"I find her ways a bit un-nerving, and plus I've been watching you. I kinda always thought, why would anyone want to hurt someone as beautiful as you" he trailed off again watching her blush
Her brown hair flowing in the wind, her sky blue eyes showing a bit of embarasment, she looked over to him and smiled. "You think I'm cute, not beautiful. No guy thinks a girl is beautiful, trust me" her past views on men getting the best of her. She stood and started to walk off
Jared stood up "You only think that because your last boyfriend said that to you, and he broke up with you. So now you think all guys are like that don't you?"
She stopped walking and looked down. What he was saying was true. That was the only reason she thought of men as the scum of the earth.
"I'm right aren't I?" he walked over to her "Moira you shouldn't think of men that way. Not all of us are like that. Some of us would rather die to save someone like you"
She felt herself wanting to cry he was hitting the soft point, her weakness. She started to walk off and suddenly broke into a run.
"MOIRA!" he had to protect her. The future of this world depended on her and on him to help her. He ran after her. Jared caught up and tackled her. He turned her around only to see her tear stained face. He sat up on her "Now don't run again ok?"
She was ready to kick him. She looked at him "Why do you care?"
"Because you're the only one who can save this world now Moira, an' Ah wanna help" his southern accent was getting the best of his speach
She looked at him and laughed at his accent "Ah reckon you ain't got anyother choice huh?" Her voice acting lessons surley payed off
He looked at her and realized his accent had returned "Oh darnit Ah can't hide from my own state. No matter where Ah go it jist goes off"
She laughed again "Jist calm down Jared"
"Awww ya think that's funny don't cha?" He leaned in
She kept laughing unaware of what he had in mind. "Yeah Ah thinks it's funny"
He closed his eyes and kissed her. She blinked and closed her eyes alowing him to kiss her. She wrapped her arms around his neck. His hands traveling down her back, the fingers tracing every curve of her body. She pushed him away noticing something up above. It was his mother. "****! This ain't good!" he cried out as got up. He held out his hand and pulled her up. They ran off to hide.
