Special Effects (Glows, shadows, whatever)

I have this probloem with the glows and shadows people use on their screen names - the problem being that my home PC won't show them.

I don't know if it's because my PC is old or whatever ... but does anyone know of any downloads, programs, graphic card specs. that I need for them to be displayed?

Any help would be appreciated.

I can't see any of the effects. Only the coloured names. it might be the browser you use.

i know on my forum, the stuff only showed on I.E. for a while, its fixed to show on mozilla firefox aswell now though. ^^!

It's not the bworser - me and Erk have the exact same browsers as each other and his works fine (providing the internet decides it wants to connect lol)

I have an old Windows 98 PC - I think my graphics' card just ain't up to it >_<
