View Full Version : New updates to the site!

I am pleased to announce two new (and full of potential) updates to the site.

As all members here will know, the Journals forum has been around a long time for users to post/spam about their day-to-day activities, gripes, completely pointless stuff etc.

For the longest time however, I've felt that having to use a mere forum for journals undermined them.

SO I PRESENT THE BLOG!

The blog is a bigger (and better) journal system. Not only can you use it to post about your day-to-day doings but you can also:

Save important notes that you need to remember, that you don't have anywhere to put.
Have separate areas - categories - for separate things that you want to post about.
leave comments on one anothers' blogs.
give your blog its own background and colours.
do pretty much everything the journal could

I hope that the blog won't be too daunting - I didn't specifically find it difficult to work out what was where - and that it'll be something productive for the site.

Note As the Blog is intended to replace in entirety the Journals forum, the Journals forum itself has been closed to prevent people from making new topics there.

However, I'm not planning on removing the forum just yet. I want to give everyone time to trawl through their journals in case they've kept anything in their messages that they feel is important - anything which needs to be copied, saved or transferred.

The Journals forum will be removed sometime in the next month.

Happy blogging. ^_^

I may as well announce it here whilst I'm still around.

Most people reading this would have -also- noticed the "vBPlaza Menu" menu besides the Blog. Most people would have also noticed that they don't have permission to use it yet.

The vBPlaza is pretty much vBulletin's (much better) answer to ACF's old and long-forgotten effects store. It's still in the process of being configured (monetary values, bank interests, other such things) but it should
be properly set up and useable tomorrow.

For those of you who missed having glows - tomorrow is the day that you'll be able to get them again. ^_^

Ok, will take me a while to sort my journal. Don't do anything until I'm done!

The vBPlaza is now set up and useable. ^_^

You'll notice that you'll already have an amount of money (Gil) that's roughly the same as the amount of posts you have. I didn't want everyone to just start off without any points, and it was the only option I had.

You'll get points for viewing topics, posting (but not in spam-o-rama for the time being, I may change that someday.) and starting new threads. You'll also get money on your birthday. ^_^

The shop is still in the process of being built however, so if things in the shop randomly pop up or disappear and come back later, change prices or anything, it's because it's still being worked on.

Viva la glow!

Is that Announcement I put up obsolete, now? If it is, it needs to go to Trash bin. ^^

I thought glow was already enabled. @_@

No frank, the vBPlaza is for putting glows on usernames. not text. O_o

The vBPlaza setup has also been finished, so whatever you can now see is staying and is useable. =3
