Alone in this sadness,
I cannot escape this fate.
Screaming in this madness,
The pain is just too great.

Wounds of the flesh,
Mere scratches, though, they are.
Wounds of the soul,
Are the worst by far.

Never does it sleep,
This disheartening, restless voice.
Drowning in insanity,
Is the only choice.

How to get it out,
This sadness in my soul?
How do I escape,
From this madness whish takes hold?

I would rather you cut me,
So that I can begin to heal.
That is far less painful,
Than this emotion that I feel.

Just for the record, I don't do light and cheery poems people...please, don't ask me to attempt it either because every time I have tried (unless it was in haiku form) they turned out really bad.
