The Fire

Fire encircling me
I can't escape.
The smoke contaminates
The once clean air.
Filling my lungs
I begin to choke.
I'm brought to my knees.
Tears build up
I try not to cry.
Pain overtaking me.
But I am strong
As I try to stand up.
The fire can't engulf me.
I am protected
But I think it
Only brings more pain.
I try to turn away.
I feel so guilty.
As the flame continues
to flicker threatening near by.
I don't know what to do.
You shouldn't be in this.
I've caused you to worry
As the fire encircles you too.
