depends on the level and the company. execs are usually bounced around by company need, but interviews (live) conducted at one location. Main HQ, usually. Lower level openings are usually advertised with location of opening and for interviews, even relocation, expense is borne by the applicant. Exec levels, company usually sponsors transportation expenses.

Reminds me of the arrow heads I used to pick up at the Red Rooster Cafe (on Route 66) on my trips back from New Mexico, that had been napped in Old Mexico, for the little kids that used to come into my gallery. They always wanted to know if they were "real." I learned quickly they they didn't want the truth, they wanted the sense of wonder at owning a genuine artifact. I gave away more of those things! I picked them up for the kids, to begin with, as little gifts,so I told them, "Yes, they're real." Which they were. Made a lot of young people happy, that way. Some lady's car stalled in the left lane of the highway. I stopped, told her to put it in neutral, then pushed it off the road. There were cars going pretty fast, including some coming up behind her, so I guess that was kinda dangerous, but I didn't really think about it at the time.

Me: Yes.
Boss: That's not the way to ask for it. You have to show me and your immediate boss that you are doing extra effort every day. Once your immediate boss notices it and tells me, we'll give you a raise.
Me: oh... I see... Then, I won't come Saturdays and Sundays anymore, since I'm not paid for overtime either. And I will leave 10 minutes after the shift is over.
Boss: eh? But, you are going to do the contrary to what I asked you to do!
Me: Well... if you are not going to give me a raise on account of all overtime I work, why should I even try?
