Past:

In a small northern village, lived two children: Amarante and Ryu Akaishi. The children had very few memories of their parents, Amarante more than her brother, due to their deaths when Amarante was three and her brother was two.

The two were raised by their grandfather until the ages of twelve and eleven, when the spiteful Shiro Wantabe burned their house and killed their grandfather. He took the children captive and enslaved them in his household, where they were frequently beaten and starved.

Nearly two months into their enslavement, Ryu attempted to kill Shiro. The boy was arrested and imprisoned. Luckily, the King, Osamu Konoe, took interest in him and offered Ryu freedom for his enlistment. Ryu agreed, hoping that he could return for his sister.

After a month without word of her brother, Amarante decided that he was dead and that death would be better than staying with Shiro. One night, she stole a knife from the kitchens and purposely caused trouble. In light of the harsh beating she knew would come, Amarante carried the knife with her to the main hall where she had been summoned.

After twenty of the hundred whip strokes she was to endure as punishment, Amarante charged at Shiro, sinking the blade of her knife into his stomach. She tore the knife from his flesh and slit his throat, instantly killing him. Without protest, the girl was taken away and imprisoned.

Ryu, hearing of his previous captor’s death, inquired as to the where-abouts of his sister, finding where she was imprisoned and discovering that she faced death. Ryu pleaded with the King to help his sister. Osamu took pity on the brother and sister and agreed to enlist Amarante as well. Together, they were trained in the Arts of Fighting and Magic.

However, it was quickly found that Amarante was extremely gifted in the both of the Arts. She embarked on a different training path with advanced teachings, which led to her joining the King’s Guard at the age of fifteen. She became the youngest member and the only female.

While his sister joined the Guard, Ryu became an elite soldier in the army. He rose through the ranks quickly, becoming a General at the age of sixteen. He was put in charge of his own specialized team, their missions consisting of rescues, assassinations, and guarding nobles.

But a war between the countries of Rivah and Akachi erupted, destroying any happiness that had been salvaged from Amarante and Ryu’s lives. With that war, came a Civil War in Rivah and the rise of the Rebellion.

While guarding an Advisor to the King, Ryu’s team was ambushed by a band of Akachians. The ambushers were killed, but so was Ryu.

Amarante had noticed the tyrannous ways of King Osamu over the two years she had been guarding him. When news of her brother’s death reached her, the mourning Amarante blamed Osamu. She blamed his tyranny for the war between Rivah and Akachi, and knew he was the cause of the Civil War.

In her new-found rage, Amarante attempted to assassinate the King. She was barely stopped, and locked away in a maximum security prison. Using her skills, Amarante was able to escape and go into hiding.

During the first few months after her breakout, Amarante wandered the country aimlessly. She began to drink, quickly becoming an alcoholic and developing an attitude problem from the suppression of her emotions.

On her eighteenth birthday, Amarante was pick-pocketed by a ___-year-old orphan. The unusually sober Amarante caught the boy and seized the money he had stolen, taking him with her to a tavern for a hot meal.

The oddly nameless orphan asked if he could travel with her. Thinking of Ryu, Amarante agreed, giving him the name him Toshi. She told him of her past, the parts that he could know, and trained him.

Hiding from the law; traveling with an orphan; regularly drinking herself into a stupor; a living legend; unmatched in the Arts of Fighting and Magic; a trained assassin; an emotionless being; a vengeful flower...

This is very good, Green Angel!

I like how detailed the past is, and the name of your character. This is very complex, and I like it!

In fact, you've inspired me. I might take a look at Raine's profile and edit a few things. Don't worry, I won't steal your ideas. And if I unconsciously do, I'm sorry, sis. >3

Hey, do you think you could maybe help me think of some made up names for the countries? I'm never good at things like that...

That's kinda what I did with most of the characters in my Dragon Master story. I just made up names using random characters. lol

tbh I like them all, but so long as you do, it's your character xD

You're not useless! Just... *thnks really hard* um, Pix, you're like the pretty person in the thread. Yeah, like how Daphne is on Scooby-Doo. She doesn't do much (not saying you don't do much!), but she provides the guys with... eye candy. (?)

And thank you.

Do you really see me as her? I did rack my brain trying to think of some names, though.

And you're welcome. :)
