Karura(Utawarerumono) first off her sword is so heavy only she can hold it...if you can even call it a sword, 2nd she's scarily strong when drunk.
i doubt Kenshin could take her,even with his godlike speed,especially based on her she took out 3 masterswordsman(ignoring thier attacks and killing them in 1 blow,i woulda so avoided those swords :shock: )

Yeah. Though I just presumed by the topic title it meant who was the best using a sword, not necessarily combining their sword-skills with other forms of attack.

Ichigo is definatly up there near the top of greatest swordsmen :P
Mikoto(Mai Hime) considering how huge that sword is the girl moves like its a katana.i dont even think another sword can stop it...it smashes tanks to pieces not to mention its sentient.Miroku shouldnnt even be classified as a sword,its more like a god killer O_o

Then there are those two dudes in Samurai Champloo, I think it is. The ones that travel around with that female companion--man, I'm terrible at remembering names. Forgive.... Anyway, they are always chopping everybody up, doesn't matter how many, either. Don't know if they could go up against a tank, though.

I'd say Kyoshiru mibu... if he existed and if his abilities were true to the reality, but, that's another concept... so I'll stay with Kenshin Himura.
(Althought I'd choose Nobunaga Oda if this were based on real characters)

From the little that I've seen, I think Jin and Mugen are best. Everyone else goes on and on about their swords and what they're going to do and what they can and can't do, indefinitely.
Jin and Mugen just get right in there and start chopping people up. But very well and very expertly.

[spoiler:59ocg5ri]He sacrificed(lost) his own arm to defeat Shigure, the guy that gave him his Jagan Eye. Although I don't see how Shigure survived that battle since he lost part of his head. You see Shigure fight and get defeated by Kurama later on. His head got reattached!(Wtf indeed.)[/spoiler:59ocg5ri]

And I believe the sword is defined as a 'Boluto'. I think it basically means 'wooden sword' but I definitely remember someone in OLS describing her sword as a Bokuto. I probably spelt it wrong though.

Kenshin Himura and Saya from blood the last vampire. A tie because Kenshin can kill anyone, and Saya kills nasty vamp monsters. Both are awesome.

Uh... I haven't seen all the episodes, but from what I recall Saya isn't really that great with a sword, she gets pwned rather often. Until she goes berserk, and starts just killing everything around her. I'd still date her, but I wouldn't want to be on her team in a fight.

I agree about Saya. And that has nothing to do with my personal hatred toward her. She is just kinda useless without someone else keeping her under 'control'. What's good about a swordsman that just kills everything in sight?
If we ae talking about swordsmen we are talking abou Rurouni Kenshin..
i will choose between Kenshin, Saitou or Shishio. I like the techniques of those 3.

I think Kyuzo is the one i mentioned before.
Adding to that list Gintoki from Gintama, he can pwn anyone with any sword! (at least in the episodes i've seen)
Also Nanashi from Sword of the Stranger.
