Shadows cast upon the ground,
where there is no sunlight to be found.
In the sunlight you can't truly see,
what people are and what they wish to be.
Crazy things happen at night,
the undead walk the Earth, right past our sight.
Magic is conjured by the spell,
ghosts have stories that they do not tell.
Someone is left alone to die,
She can't be heard, no matter how much she cries.
As our knowledge expands and grows,
we learn what we really don't want to know.
But sometimes we just want to feel,
something different, something unreal.
So as the faries silently dance and humbly croon,
and the werewolves cry sadly to the full, round moon.
Won't you watch next time your cat hisses at something unseen,
because we're racing towards realization, and it's not serene.
