Formerly, messengers of the Creator;
the cherished, the devoted, the loved.
Presently, couriers of the Seven Sins;
the exiled, the cursed, the damned.
Creation; the origin of insurgence,
commanded to worship the image of Lord;
however, vanity forbid them,
from bowing down to an inferior.
Blinded by will, lust, and pride,
rebellion against their Master;
Banishment from the presence of the Divine,
the Accuser's punishment just.
The Morning Star forsakened,
amid countless others;
Third of the sky,
broken away from the light.
Defeated by the Prince of the Heavenly Host,
the depreaved plunged to Terra;
their wings forever broken,
their hearts forever scarred.
Expelled from Eden,
wrath and reprisal mustered;
"Better to reign in Hell,
then to serve in Heaven."
Thus, the exiled roam through earth,
ever shifting the hearts of men,
until the Tribulation and the Judgement,
Ballade of the Fallen, eternal.
