This is an add on to my ' --Signature Banner requests--'.

Instead of me making them in this topic, i rate your own. I will give tips, give help. I will post tutorials every know and then. Everything to help you out. I will also post some sigs to guide you, so that this topic DOES belong in the creativity catigory.

Whos' first?

Anyway, I know mine is a bit plain, but I have to ask you one question...

I've noticed that for the one's you've created for forum members have shadows around the names and other parts...How did you get the shadows there, and what program do you use?

I use Fireworks, Paintshop pro 7, Flash. To get my shadows and blury effects, i just go to the 'add effect' go down to 'bevel and emboss' and make it an 'inner bevel' or 'raised bevel' for the 3D effect. Shadowing will also be there under 'Shadow and glow'.

You should, when i first started...about 2 weeks ago. I was crap, but i got over it and carried working.

I think i put the transparent text a bit to high, you weren't meant to read that :oops:

PaintMS.....well, i cant help alot, but enough for you to get started.

First of all, go on the net, follow http://www.altavista.com and search any picture you want on the image search.

Thanks, once you've chosen an image, open PaintMS and make a suitable size page, using your arrow and the dots in the corners. You should figure it out.

Ok, now go on 'edit' and drop down to 'paste from' browse and get your image and press 'ok'. You can fiddle around with the size. Find a way to paste and re-size that suits you best.

Ok, now, go onto the text button, the 'A'. Once selected, go down on the same toolbar, and you will have 2 images of shapes and a yellow BG. Select the bottom one to fit your Background. Go onto your drawing or where-ever you want the text to be, make a text box, select colour, font and size. There you have, a simple sig. You can make borders ect with paint brush.

It is very good. I would recomend putting a darker border, and make it about 2-3 pixels, instead of aobut 5-6 pixels. Thats all the tips i can give you for PaintMS. Just keep practising.

I've only got MGI Photosuite vers. 8 and Paintbrush. I've not used MGI a lot... but I think there's some blur effect menus.... how do you get the shodow effect on MGI (if there is one)?

Well, i never really go on MGI, i dont really go onto so i wouldn't know, but what i would say is this: Look for a 'bevel and emboss' section, it will give you shadows, glow effects and everything. I dont know how to tell you where to locate it though.

Yes, i will rate everyones sig. Just tell me the program you used it on, how long it took you, and then just post the image or put it onto your signature. I would gladly offer a rating out of 10.

Well I use Microsoft Photodraw V2.
I made the sig that I am using now and it took me about 30 minutes.

Well i like it, its very good for that program, indeed. I think making a matching colour for the font is suitable, and make about 2 pix border, a darker pink, making 3D on Bevel. It is very good though, check here for cooler fonts to use:

Ok ok i wont hold back.

The background is repeated, so it looks a waste of space, maybe trim it down a few pixels to keep a bit of bandwidth and make it look neater. The character with the weapon is cut rather well, and the 2 images on either corner are ok, but i would suggest to make them a more transparent shade, but, you only have paintMS i presume? The text is a bad colour, the font is okay, but i would go for a lighter red. Maybe crimson. I would also say make it bevelled, but again, you havn't the better programs.

Overall, its amazing for the program you use, but cut it down a little more, and make it more clearer, and its perfect other than that...

Yes, PaintMS.

I liked the simplicity feeling it has, maybe a red border, but one pixel out, and spend more time cutting out the image you have imported. Its really good though. Is it your first?

Nice sig White Fang. I like how it's simple and not cluttered. I think the sig is perfect. The only thing that I don't like is the type of text used for 'I'll love you forever'. But it is nothing to worry about.

Indeed i have a competition. I also like that sig of yours very much so. Very well blended.
