Dream

Seeing you smile trapped me in a dream.
Was it a dream?
A place I put myself to hide the truth.
It didn’t matter I was happy
And in that dream so were you.
One day you left.
Shattering that dream.
Shattering me.
It was nothing more
Than a ripple on a pond
You were growing farther and farther away.
While I was left on that bank wondering why.
I didn’t cry because my heart was doing it for me
But yet I didn’t hate you.
Hate…
Why hate someone I vowed to love.
My heart is sick with memories of you.
But yet I don’t cast them away.
I’ve realized this dream was a cage
And this feeling I had was nothing more than a collar.
Yes I knew…
But I didn’t want to.
I continued following these false feelings
And I didn’t care because I had you.
Tell me now that you’re gone
Did you love me?
Or was it just a dream for you to?
Its been years
And I’ve grown.
I created a new dream where I am happy.
A dream without you…
