the basic story is that 1 day floating city materialized above Tokyo from another dimension, the biengs from this other dimension are identical to humans cept thier blue blood and fact they have a symbiotic bond to thier own respective dolems(a claylike lifeform resembling a mecha) and are called Mulians...or mu for short

the series starts a few years after they have conquered Tokyo enveloping in a sphere that resembles jupiter, brainwashed every1 to think they are all thats eft of the human race, and also inside the barrier time moves one sixith as fast as the outside world

apparently the us govt was the trigger that caused the mulians to go from peacful to invasion,so theyv been striped of all power, and the majority of the world's armies are defeated even Terra the ant-imu organization is n o match for dolems and thier only hope is Rahxephon an unborn dolem hidden deep below tokyo, and so Terra launches an operation to sieze it and its instruentalist while the armed forces distract the Mu while Haruka looks for the Rahxephon

this series focuses on music as 1 of the most important aspects of the story so its soundtrack is superb,t he animation is amazing, and theres also a lil mayan here and there since the Mu seem to be based on the ancient Mayan culture

this series is of the romance/action genre, having finished it i cant see why evangelion fans would call this a ripoff the similarities end with both anime having a godlike mecha, and enemies with blue blood

1 of the reasons i love this anime is Ayato never spazzes out about the fact he's been forced to pilot,he doesnt want to fight, but if an enemy appears he goes into battle without even needing to be told

at 1st the series starts with 1 dolem attacking per episode, but that stops about halfway for the deeper plot to get going

there are a few things left unexplained, but nothing that would be considered a major hole in the plot, although people will only know half of the story about reika unless they watch a hidden scene after the last episode credits...

i have not watched the movie, but from what iv been told its not worth buying if you own the anime since its a summarized version of the anime which leaves out a good amount of the plot due to its short length

i give this series a 10 in every possible way
