The Dragon Reserve

(I'm crap at new threads, so forgive me. I might change the name some time if I find a better one (frank, help required))

This house is run by me, and many of the powerful, mythical creatures known as dragons have, at one point, come across this home in their journeys. The house is sort of like a hostel - quite a lot of orphaned, injured or young dragons live here, but the house is open to anyone (or anything) that needs a place to rest for the night, somewhere to find food and water, or a place to just sit and relax.

The appearance of my house is castle-like, with a big courtyard and large open grounds All of the bedrooms and lounge rooms are large and well-furnished with many modern equipment. a self-catering bar, a kitchen, and if there isn't something that you want I can get it installed ^^;

(The few dragons that live here are looking for 'partners' to leave the house with, so don't be alarmed if one suddenly takes interest to you - chances are it'll like you and want to stay with you even if you leave. If anyone requires any more details about the house or anything, just ask me. I'm always around somewhere)

So um. okay, I guess that's it. *dusts out the reception room* the place is open. Just don't go right down to the bar yet, I'm still stocking the alcohol ^^;

*frank, in his travels with his own dragon Shoden, sees a new Home ahead. As he nears, the castle-like structure is impressive indeed. And he thinks, "this has the look and feel of a Master Builder I do know." Nearing closer, over the main portal which stands open in silent invitation, is carved in stone the name Dragon Reserve. *

Shoden, do you think this could be the new Home, that we heard rumored, of our good friend, Sir Mac? It is certainly large enough, even at the portal, to pass your tall height.

The gates stand open and no keeper present. Let us enter and see what we may behold.

*Always bold and brave, frank and Shoden pass into the courtyard. They are both astounded and astonished at what they see. There are seemingly dragons everywhere. But most are small and have the look of orphans. A few there be that are full-grown or near, but even they, with an exception here and there, note a "dragon sadness" about their being*

*But the dragons grown are tending to the little ones. A quick glance and it would seem that there is a dragon school in pogress*

Shoden, do you think this is the sanctuary which our good friend Sir Mac has always wanted? Let us give a hail to bring out the keeper or the owner .

And with that, Shoden rears back his mighty head, and from the depths of Middle Earth itself, casts out a roar to hail and beckon whoever might be brave enough to answer his call. frank stands tall, next his partner, his hands upon his warlock's staff, firmly planted and his cape billowing in the wind.

*They await whomever may come forth to recognize their presence.*

[Mac]

*he sees frank standing at the front of the place... he almost trips over himself trying to force the doors open*

drank?! .... w.. what the....... eh heh -_-' *scratches head* what brought you here?

*he looks around outside maybe hoping to see others, but sees only frank and Shoden*

it's a start. frank, why don't you uh... come on? No, both of you, come in. You're my first visitors to this place, you know.

*he beckons for them to come inside with him*

this is that dragon orphanage that you've heard about. Only just recently refurbished it into a home for visitors. still needs some work like.... damn bar's still not done yet.

*while strolling throught the area with his giant halbreder sword on his shoulder as he always does, he spots frank flying down with Shoden into a giant castle like manor and he ponders what he is here for*

What's frank and Shoden doing here? *he looks at the head stone at the front gates* Ah-ha!!! This is Maccy's new place..... I'll stop in and say hello.

*He walks throught the gates and looks around at all the dragons and they look at him and his blade*

Umm, please don't worry...... I'm Mac's friend..... *he smiles at them and continues walking and watches the dragon get back to there business*

I have to get something to cover this thing....It intimidates everyone..... Ahh... whatever...... maybe there will be a place I can put this until I leave..... we'll see....

*He walks up to the ndoor and knocks on the doors knocker gently*

Maccy???? Hello???

Aye, Mac. 'Tis I and Shoden, of course. *greets Mac with a warrior's clasping of the forearm.*

We'd heard of your adventure grand, this place that be. Congratulations!! And grand it is. No bar? Didn't come to drink, at least not yet.

And now look, here arrives our friend, HT wth his most powerful weapon. And it seems your dragons, big and small are very curious about him.

[Mac]

*he stares at HT's huuuuge weapon and scratches his head with his unclasped arm*

um... yeah. well..... I don't know about curious. maybe concerned, I damn well are.

*he shouts over to HT*

what are you doing over here anyway? were you following frank, or is this just luck? *back to frank* I expected it to be a long time before anybody would even consider risking coming near a place where dragons live... anyway.... I think there's a big sitting room down that hallway where you and Shoden can sit and relax. ask HT to go down there too, I'll just go up to the bar and bring down some of the drinks I have saved in the back rooms.

[ht]

*He looks around and tries to find a place to set his weapon aside*

Ah, there's one.....

*He walks to the corner of the hall and put the halbreder sword against the corner of the wall*

*He looks at Mac*

Umm, I was walking by and I saw frank fly in and then I saw te sign so I decided to stop in and check the new place out.... and I have to say I really like it, just my style......

*he walks after frank and Shoden to the sitting room*

[Mac]

uh.. thanks?

*he scratches his head as a bead of sweat rolls down it. he scratches his cheek afterwards, then turns and goes down to the bar, into the storage room where all the bottles of wine and other alcohol were being stored prior to the bar's opening*

what would frank like? probably something strong....... maybe I should get something for Shoden, too..... but does he drink? ><

*he muses, head scratching, before randomly grabbing up bottles and placing them on a trolley*

meh. guess n grab always works.

*he wheels the trolley out of the room, looks around, the heds off towards the room where (hopefully) HT, frank and Shoden have gone*

*He sits down with frank and Shoden and looks out the window at all the dragons and what they are doing*

Wow, this is cool, so many dragons living in peace in one place......

*he sits back and looks around the room at all the decorations and fancy furniture*

[frank]

Well, HT , sometime back as I recall you were asking about a dragon for your own?

"Twould seem an auspicious place, this, to acquire such a beast."

*Shoden looks at frank when he uses that word, shaking his scales in disapproval, making low rumblings in the back his throat, and a heated tendril of smoke comes out his nostrils.*

"My pardon, good Shoden, I would not offend thee, my partner in any way. Stay thy anger. Here there be peace. And I'll refrain from calling you & yours beast."

*HT couldn't hear what frank was saying to Shoden as words weren't necessary. But he did become alarmed at Shoden's agitation.*

"We need another traveler or three. Who do we know that would like to acquire or care for one of Mac's dragons?"

[ht]

I'd like to have a companion with me on my travels...... Befriending one would be nice.....

*He continues to look outside at all the dragons*

They look happy here, I bet they are very thankful for this chance to have a home and to have a companion....

[frank]

Indeed, my friend. A very unique place and a rather unique owner.

But see you here, HT. *frank goes into his lecture mode*
Dragons must be more than companion, much more.

And the befriending, I think, is more on their end than on ours. It is difficult to explain, but as example, I would put my life aside should Dragon Shoden need it. And he, in turn, would die for me.

A bond there be, between us, that seeming just appeared. And the strength of that bond is such that I need but think to him what I wish him to know, and Shoden "hears." Equal, he speaks to me in like-wise manner. Some call it telepathy. I term it Dragon-think. It may be that Sir Mac has yet another word for this phenomenon.

This is but one of many things which must occur between man and dragon to form good partnership. And there is still another, stranger still. But I'll let Mac tell thee of that.

A word of caution, however. Mac may not be all that he appears. Nor do I speak behind his back, for that I would not do. But fair warning I give thee to tread softly in this Home of the Sir Mac.

[Mac]

*he kicks the door open, wheeling the wine trolley in in front of him*

Hm. Good to see you managed to find the right room. ^^; this place is so big I expected someone to get lost pretty quickly.

*he wheels the trolley into the centre of the room and pushes it a little closer to where the three are sat*

The bar isn't open, but I'm stocked to bursting with pretty much everything you could probably ask for, so you can go ahead and help yourself to this stuff as you want. And frank. *looks at frank* when I was about to come in I overheard you and HT talking about something relating to dragons. I'm not sure what it was, but if HT's looking to take one for a companion and a friend, then he might get lucky.

*he took up a champagne glass from the trolley, uncorked a wine bottle and filled it with wine, offering it to frank for a starter. he began pouring a second for HT*

I can't say for definite though. But you'll know if one of the residents here suddenly takes a liking to you - you'll not be able to get in the bathroom without being tracked.

*he laughed a little, pouring himself some wine*

*He looks at Mac as he comes in and hands him a glass of champagne then he smiles*

Well Mac, I'll watch for that.....

*stands up and raises his glass slightly*

I would like to give a toast to Mac for being nice enough to open this dragon reserve, very smart Maccy.

*he toasts Mac's and frank's glass and takes a sip*

A toast to Mac, then. *touches his wine glass to theirs and sips.*

Mac, I was explaining to HT some of the peculiar ways of dragons, how they talk and hear with their companions.

Also, how the dragon is more often the one that will do the choosing.

And just so you know, I also mentioned about your own different secret. But that was all. What you choose to tell anyone about yourself is your business, not mine.

Tell us about your sanctuary. How many dragons are here, what ages, sizes, old and young, how many are waiting for a trusting partner?

Tell us everything, Sir Mac!!

*he sighed, disregarding it in case that made him suspsicious*

To be honest, frank, I don't know how many are here. They come and go at their will. all ages, all types, all abilities. The majority are young, orphaned ones, the sorts looking for human partners...

*he takea s drink of his wine and sighs and looks at Shoden*

I forgot. Does Shoden want something to drink too?

[frank]

Thanks Mac. No Shoden will have nothing here, as you well know.

His thirst was satisfied last we left Mt. Meklhorn, drinking as he does the water that comes up from deep within the earth, chilled at mountain heights, and delivered to him in a constant burbling brook, purified with faerie dust.

His hunger was satisfied on the way, from the flesh and blood of ten ownerless sheep. He is well satisfied. Or so he says.

[Mac]

um. well it's polite to ask. ^^;;

*he takes a step back*

are you three going to be okay for, ten, maybe fifteen minutes? I need to take care of something. Two of the young dragons are constantly fighting and getting into trouble and breaking things and I need to keep going round and making sure they're not breaking stuff.

[ht]

Go right ahead Maccy..... I'll stay here and wait until you come back....

*looks out the window at all the dragons*

Sup Shoden, how ya feeling?

[frank]

*Shoden dragon-thinks to frank*

Who is this mortal, that dares address me so? Does he not know that the only thing which has kept him safe is your friendship with him?

*Shoden rears back his mighty head and roars an ear-splitting blast of disapproval. His nostrils are aflame and smoking, and from his throat is seen the beginning of a huge fireball. frank is alarmed that Shoden is so angry that he has lost control.*

Shoden, cease!! This instant! Have a care about you, and remember that we are but as guests, visitors well invited to spend some time and perhaps talent, with Sir Mac.

You would know my friend. My apologies to you for having forgotten that introductions had not been offered.

*frank stands in formal stance between the two.*

Shoden, know you then that this be Hibiki Tokai. A fearless warrior of courage and strength enough to rightly wield that mighty weapon--yon halbreder, which as courtesy, he placed in corner, away from us.
And he is my friend!!

Hibiki, I would have thee meet my constant companion and sometimes protector. This be Shoden.As you see he is a dragon, but the most fierce and feared of all his kind. Of royal lineage comes my friend and a heritage that does span thousands of years. He is of all the elements and his persuasion, like mine, is to the white.
There are but two humans which he will tolerate near him, lest he know they are with me. And those two are Sir Mac and me. As my friend, I would have you know him, that you two should not fight but accept each other for my friendship's sake.

(The ladies, of course, are something else, again. And Shoden being a gallant soul, as well as warrior dragon, permits especially one to engage in some sort of frivolity called, "tummy rub.")

Shoden! Meet Hibiki!! Hibiki Tokai! Meet Shoden. It is my wish that from this moment forward, you neither one of you, assume a warrior's stance to one another.

As warriors then, and as my friends, please greet each other properly.

*Shoden bows his head, but not his eyes, in deference to frank's wishes. The fireball he makes to disappear, the flaming nostrils equal stilled. He awaits, as does frank, Hibiki's greeting.

*He looks Shoden in the eyes and smiles*

Nice to meet you Shoden, I would never hold a sword upon frank's companion...... I apologize if I didn't give you the respect you deserve.... I have become acustomed to being in a dragon's presence while in the mercenaries, so I forgot my manners...... do forgive my momentary lack of respect.

*bows his head slightly and smiles again*

[Mac]

(apologies if this is waaaaay too long ><)

*he's out in the back walking around, hands behind head, looking among the various outbuildings and sheltered areas of the land that the dragons living there generally use to sleep or keep out the elements*

where are those two.....

*he hears something snap... and he turns to see two young dragons, one silver, the other pale blue, rolling and fighting close to a wodden shed which had some of his tools in*

oh god. HEY!!! WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU TWO?! STOP FIGHTING ALREADY!!!

*he goes up to the two of them and they ignore him. Getting a little angry, he imposes his stature in the strongest way, and, seeing him so angry, they both stop rolling and stare at him*

If you two want to fight, you can do it where you won't break anything? Okay? I can't stop you fighting. But when you're fighting where stuff is going to get broken, you're really going to get me angry.

*the two dragons look at one another, then back with feeble shakes of their heads, before making quick apologetic noises to each other, standing up*

That's better. You know how much I hate having to do this. Besides, I have two visitors in the new building, and one of them doesn't know who I really am, so it'd be great if I didn't have to resort to doing this whilst he's around, okay?

*the two dragons nod again, then quicklyt depart and take up their play-fighting somewhere more appropriate. Feeling a little calmer, he looks around the stretch of land at the others then, satisfied, returns to the building*

*sits down and thinks*

...hmmm...when was the last time I polished that thing...? It so old....... I'll probably get a new one soon........ a big and sharper one than before..... but that thing has been with me since I first became a soldier...... wow that was a long time ago...... oh well

*he looks out the window and thinks some more*

[Mac]

*he comes back into the room, hands in pockets, and sighs*

Sorry about that... Trouble, as usual, those two are. They've eben fighting each other since.......... never mind.

*he gives Shoden a quick, but tired glance, happy that he's comfortable and settled and all that (so it seems to him anyway), and then takes a long drink of wine and sighs*

Those two are the worst... they're always fighting... *goes off talking to himself about the fighting*

[frank]

*And so it goes in the life of Sir Mac. To apologize for a lengthy recounting when he knows full well that frank's will most likely be triple long.*

*And then to wander off with no rhyme or reason, save some mutterings about two dragons fighting.*

Sir Mac! Is there aught that we can do? Some help which we may offer? Name it and it's yours. On mine and Shoden's part, for the least. I cannot speak for Hibiki.*

[Mac]

Um.... No, there really isn't anything else to do about those two. I can't stop them fighting. How else will they get stronger?

*he stops his muttering and drinks a bit and looks out the window in a silence*

It's just the case that they like to fight everywhere and anywhere. If they could just underatand when I tell them to not fight near the buildings that I mean it for their safety and mine, I'd have a much easier time.

[ht]

*looks at Maccy*

Well, they're still young.... they'll grow out of it.....

*drinks*

It'll just take some time......

*drinks some more*

[Mac]

Hm.

*he looks over at HT and a little smirk spreads across his face*

why don't you and frank come out into the grounds with me? so you can see the dragons and such. I'm sure they'd like to meet you, especially those two I've just mentioned.

[ht]

Sure, I'll come and check it out^^

*stands up and wlks next to Maccy*

frank? You comin?

*smiles*

[frank]

Oh yes, I wouldn't miss this for the world. Even Shoden seems eager for the chance to witness an event such as I suspect may unfold. And all for thine own benefit, Hibiki. For thine own.

*frank looks a Mac, having seen that smile, but doesn't say a word. Even Shoden, tuning in, remains a silent dragon.*

[Mac]

Okay. then follow me, and I'll show you where most of the dragons spend their time.

*leading the way from the room, he returns to the open grounds through the rear of the building, leading his friends out into the open again. He walks past where he told the two fighting dragons off, and round to where there is a giant valley -at the bottom of which there is a giant lake of crystal clear water. and around the edges of the lake, sunbathing, conversing, or even swimming in the water, are probably half of the resident dragons*

Nuts *he thought* I'm gonna have to climb down unless... Shoden's willing to let us ride him down there instead

*he looks back at the others with a slight sigh*

I forgot to mention. We have to do a bit of climbing, methinks.

*looks down*

Well, Shoden will take frank and maybe us too.

*smiles*

[frank]

Hibiki, what are you talking about? Mac can't carry you down the mountain. What do you think he is a dragon?

Shoden will take us all. I think. Shoden, would you mind flying us down to yonder valley?

*In answer, Shoden arranges his scales into three separate seats.*

*frank climbs up and waits for his two friends.*

[ht]

Okay.....

*gets on Shoden*

thanks Shoden.....


*smiles*

[Mac]

*he clinmbs up onto Shoden looking a bit embarrassed*

OK frank. I think we're ready. Just ask Shoden to fly down to the sandy part between those three trees *points* that's probably the safest place to land down.

[ht]

Man, this brings back memories..... when I was in the military....... I still remember the dragon squadron....... hmmm....I wonder what they're doin......

*look at frank*

Whenever Shoden is ready.......I'm all set.... and I would guess Maccy is to^^

[frank]

*Shoden readjusts his scales to hold the three riders securely on his back.*

*frank thinks to Shoden*

Sir Mac would have you take us to the safest place. See yonder sandy area, between the trees? Aye, tis the one.
At thy readiness, good Shoden. Take us there.

*Shodeen extends out his mighty wings, glad to be doing something instead of all this talking. And with a single, mighty stroke he is aloft, and riding the thermal currents to the spot below.*

*He comes streaming into the valley and with powerful back stroking he slows their flight to a gentle landing where Sir Mac had pointed.*

We''re here, Sir Mac. Let us dismount and see what you would have us see.

Thank you Shoden for bearing all of us in your safe way.

*frank touches Shoden's side that his thanks can be felt through his palms.*

*he gets off of Shoden*

Thank you Shoden, it was nice of you to take us.

*walks up to Maccy*

Maccy, where do you want us to go from here..... the lake is that way right?

*points in the direction of the lake*

[Mac]

um... yeah ^^;

*he doesn't know how to thank Shoden, as such, so all he can manage is some sort of nervous head-nod to him, before looking across*

yeah, this way, to the lake. I thought I'd..... bring you all down here because well... Most of the dragons usually take breaks down here and stuff. so this is probably the best place to meet some of them.

*he waves for them to follow him as he sets off on the short walk up towards the lake's edge, where the dragons should be*

[frank]

*frank senses that Mac is nervous or unsure about how to talk to Shoden. Especially when they knew full well that Mac could have morphed and flown himself. But that is his affair*

Sir Mac, Shoden would have you know that he appreciates your courtesy of thanks. And would also have you know that if, in future, any assistance can be lent, he will be most pleased.

To this dragon lake of yours, then, let us go.

*frank and Shoden walk with Mac and Hibiki towards the lake.*

[Mac]

(wth is Hibiki in this?)

*leading the others, they all approach the giant lake, where, about two dozen young dragons, and a few adults are around. most of them are playing in the water; splashing one another, or just lazing around in the shade around the sides. Upon entry near the lake, almost all of them turn and consider the group. He stops, holding his hands up to them*

It's okay guys. they're all friends of mine, they're just visiting.

*with accepting grunts and snorts, most of the dragons return to their leisure. However, a few curious ones approach them at a slow pace, unsure about Shoden. With a smile, he walks away from the group up to the nervous dragons, and pets their noses gently to reassure them*

it's okay guys. they're my friends. Shoden's not nasty... don't be scared of him, okay? *he shouts to frank and Hibiki and Shoden* hey, you don't have to stand there and stare. come over and meet them.

[frank]

*frank and Shoden have overcome their initial shock at seeing so many dragons, of so many sizes, and different ages, and all being peaceful with one another.*

*Almost playful, frank thinks. Shoden also doesn't know what to make of Mac's collection of his brethren. But as there is no sense of danger, no evils lurking round about, he relaxes and goes forward with frank to Mac's side.*

And how do you manage this, Sir Mac? To have so many, so different and all peaceful. But is there not a training area where they may also develop their fighting and their magick skills?

[ht]

*He looks at all the dragons in the lake having fun and smiles*

Well, this is very nice, they seem so happy, would it be okay if I got to go near them, do you think they would be okay with that?

*He looks at Maccy and smiles*

I haven't seen so many dragons in one place in a long time.

[Mac]

It's fine. don't worry, they won't bite you or anything.

*he smiles, giving the dragons besides him a gentle petting*

and frank - the entire reserve is their training ground. They play and fight as they wish. Most of them are too young to be able to learn magic, if there are any that want to learn such things I train them in that myself.

*he smiles, until he gets nudged from behind. One of the dragons from the fight he broke up earlier - the blue one - has come over from the lake and has something of a direct interest in Hibiki*

come on Hibiki.... this guy seems to like you for some reason.

[ht]

*He walks up to the dragon and smiles*

Well, hey there........ what's your name?

*He smiles and holds out his hand*

(I can't think of anything else to say in this situation XD, I'll write more in the next one)

[Mac]

* yeah, you'd better XD)

*he watches as Hibiki approaches the dragon that seems so interested in him. The dragon respons to Hibiki with a growl-like sound, but he can't understand what it said to Hibiki at all. He looks across at frank for a second*

I think this might be the dragon that's chosen Hibiki for a partner, you know. I mean look at him. I've never seen him so interested in anyone... and so friendly and polite.

*he gets interrupted as the dragon accidentally knocks Hibiki over in an attempt to get Hibiki to talk more*

well, he's as playful as before. ^^;;

[ht]

*he laughs while on the ground*

Well, you wanna be my friend? Come on^^

*he gets up and pats the dragon gently*

You're definately a friendly one^^

*He smiles at the dragon and pats his nose*

So, what is your decision? I'm looking for a good companion and partner on my travels..... would you like come with me?

[frank]

*frank and Shoden have been watching the playful dragon trying to make friends with Hibiki.*

*He sees Mac looking at him & Shoden. He nods back and even Shoden drops his head in approval.*

Well, Sir Mac, it seems that one of your charges may soon be leaving home. Or is that little one that is favoring Hibiki ready to leave yet?

*And silently thinks to Mac, and is Hibiki ready to acept the responsibility of dragon companion?*

[Mac]

Well, this dragon's old enough to do things himself, you know. They grow pretty quickly. you must know that.

*he looks at frank for a moment, then back, and begins to laugh at Hibiki*

honestly, Hibiki. I've never seen him so happy to see anyone.

*the dragon is still trying to crawl over Hibiki and is constantly licking his face*

You know. I think his actions speak for words, Hibiki. It's pretty obvious he wants to stay with you.... though. You gotta remember to look after him and train him. Having a dragon for a companion is a big responsibility. If he isn't treated fairly and with the respect of a dragon he'll most likely turn on you when you least expect it, and a nasty bite from a close friend isn't something you forget.

*He looks at frank again, with a "It's up to Hibiki to decide if he's ready" look*

[frank]

*frank looks at Mac with a "Well, they are your responsibility, and on your Preserve, and you know which ones are ready." look*

Indeed, Sir Mac. The two seem to be making a good team. At least the initial bond has formed. That omens well for the future.

*frank & Shoden continue to watch the antics of Hibiki and the dragon that has adopted him.*

Perhaps a name is in order, here, or is that something better left for later?

[Mac]

Hibiki should name him. Of course, he does have a name, but it's completely unpronouncable in your language. Hence, Hibiki should give him a name that they will both understand.

*the silver dragon that had been playing (fighting) with Hibiki's dragon nudges against him and makes a sad whine, knowing his friend is going*

It's okay, don't be sad for him. I'm sure you'll still be friends, and you'll meet up again pretty soon.

*he gives the sad dragon a reassuring pat, putting his arm over it's neck for comfort. Then, he looks at Hibiki, laughing*

Hibiki, if you don't get up you're going to become a pancake!!

[frank]

*frank looks at Mac with a shocked expression.*

Mac, you just said "in your language." Is that different than your language?

Yes, Hibiki. Name your new companion as a start to an inseparable and rewarding bond with a truly magnificent creature.

Mac, how old a dragon be this one that favors Hibiki so?

[Mac]

*he pulls a face at frank*

yes frank. I said your language........ my language is........ a lot different. you should know, since Shoden speaks it.

*he looks at Hibiki, and laughs again*

that dragon, he's probably about five years old. they grow quick, you know. They learn quick too. another year, and he'll be about as tall as you, frank.

*He smiles and gets up*

*he looks at the silver dragon. he looks back sadly, and whines again*

Aye Sir Mac, we both know it well--Shoden and I--that play was not the goal. My concern was whether it be wise to bring into our ranks a new inititiate, with dragon new acquired, and tween them both, no powers shown.

I can understand Laidon, though you may not understand him yet, and he has said a few times in your presence that he knows you will treat him fairly. He already trusts you ... it is not common for a dragon to trust someone so quickly.

*he looks back at the stranger as he's still trying to make friends with dragons. Some of the curious ones are still regarding him from distance*

Well, this is a reserve for dragons... it is his choice whether to stay or go. But he seems as if he is looking for a companion, equally like Hibiki had.

Providing he understands the risks of staying so uncalled, he can travel around the reserve with us and meet the dragons. from the way he was acting, he is looking for a friend, and I think he will want to meet the ranks and see whether any take to him.

For Hibiki, I cannot answer, for I know not where he is, how he got there, or even how he left--not giving word of parting.

Which would leave you and me. And that, I think, is not enough to maintain this grand reserve. For I have my partner Shoden, as you have Ferron.

I think, my gentle friend, that perhps tis best if you do not close the grounds entire, but perhaps leave a guardian dragon to oversee it's continued presence.0

There are a lot of dragons that live here, I'm pretty sure that if you just walk around and make them know you're here one of them might want to become your companion... it's just a really misunderstood thing.... a lot of people don't see a dragon befriending someone as a positive thing, they think they're going to get killed.

*he looks at her, then shakes his head*

They're my friends.... If they wanted to hurt dragons, we would've been able to smell it through the air... I trust them. it seems that the youngsters do as well.

[Lady Vamp]

*tries to walk away from the dragon for a moment but the little dragon whimpers. Vamp sighs good-naturedly and continues to tickle her belly*

*gets worn out. starts to get a bit tried. lays down and goes to sleep*

[Mac]

See. They're harmless.

*he pats the dragon's nose to ease her then turns and looks at Sene*

.... hm... the surprise must have tired her out. *he smiles* can you do me favour? Can you just watch over her and make sure she stays okay? I'm pretty sure looking at her back then that the young dragon with her's taking a definite liking to her.

*the dragon nods, walking back to where she was watching beforehand, then she sits and keeps her eyes on Sene and the dragon. he turns and then looks at Vamp*

I love it when dragons find companions...

[Lady Vamp]

"I guess I can't leave you alone, can I?" Vamp laughs.

"I guess not!" The dragon says loudly. Vamp blinks in surprise. "Do you have a name yet?" She asks the dragon. She shakes her head. "Then I dub you Selene, named after the great vampire warrior! How's that?" Vamp asks. The dragon smiles, revealing ebony teeth.

*turns in her sleep*

[Mac]

*he almost jumps*

... wow.... a young dragon speaking English. that's new... it took me twen..... never mind.

*he sighs, then smiles, he looks back at Sene to see if she's okay, then walks up to Vamp and the dragon and kneels with them*

are you two okay? you seem to be good friends already.

[Lady Vamp]

*Vamp gets up. "I gotta go home soon..." She glances as Selene, who flies up to her shoulder. "You know I'm coming!" She says confidently. Vamp smiles, relieved. "We'll be just fine, Sir Mac." Vamp bows and walks out of the dragon reserve, Selene perched on her shoulder and whispering things into her ear*

[Mac]

*he sighs, and wipes an eye*

.... I just hope they come back sometime soon...

*he gets back on his feet*

[Lady Vamp]

*poks her head back in*

"Oh we will! Waitaminute...were you just crying, oh honorable Mac?"

*Selene giggles*

*he turns his head to the side*

No... something was in my eye.

*he sniffs*

*Selene flies over and hands him a tissue*

"You might need this..." She says, trying to keep a strait face

*Vamp hands him the whole box of tissues.*

"A nose in need deserves Puffs indeed!" She says, half laughing.

*he sniffs, taking the tissues, but he doesn't wipe his nose*

when I see.... a dragon... from this sanctuary... my home, find a companion and leave... it just makes me emotional..... that's all....

*he bites his lip momentarily*

and because I'll never see them again most likely.....

*Vamp gets an idea*

"Hey, what if me and Selene work here? You know, to welcome newbies and show them around a bit?"

"Yeah, and I could introduce them to me dragon friends! We could kinda be like match-makers!" Selene says.

*They both put on the sad face*

"Pweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez?"

[Mac]

*he sighs and looks at them sligbhtly*

I don't know.....

*he stares at his feet, then back up and looks at Sene*

I only built this place to house any unwelcomed dragons... I never expected anyone to want to work here except myself ......

*he doesn't know what to do*

*Selene sighs, then pulls out the MEGA-ULTRA-REALLY REALLY SAD FACE!!! Dun-dun-dun!*

*he looks at her, and just can't say no to it*

but I have to warn you, not all the dragons here are as friendly as her...... so really, it's a case of 'do at your own risk'...

*stops hovering and sits on the ground*

*slowly makes herself visible, so it's not a big shock that she's there, although the dragons probably knew she was there already*

*whisper* I'm out of hiding. ^_^

*sits on her knees and sees all the dragons*

*he sighs, and smacks himself in the face once to try and bring some sense back to him*

yeah..... it's amazing isn't it?

*he finally uses the tissues*

they come from everywhere...... it's a sanctuary....... just for dragons... safe from people that would otherwise harm them.

*the mother dragon walks and sits back besides him, about to ask him about Pix. he rests his hand on her nose and whispers to her*

*he smiles and leans against the dragon, looking at Pix*

^_^ I wanted to see this place, all these dragons. The dragons...there are no words to describe how I feel about them. Unfortumately, I don't know that much about them. And I wanted to visit you!

*Vamp salutes and runs off with Selene to meet the other dragons, but not before Selene sniffs Rain_Pixie and says "You're a good human. My dragon friends will like you, don't worry about that!"*

uh...... eyah... I built this place myself uh... No. *he shakes his head* I had a little help, really, but it was my idea to set this land up as a sanctuary... and I get as much of the food as I can though most of it kinda lives here itself anyway.
