They're a goth/metal/opera group from Finland I think. In my opinion I think they're really good, something worth listening too. The one who does the vocals is Tarja Turunen, the drumer is Jukka Nevalainen, the guitarist is Erno Vuorinen, bass and vocals is Marco Hietala, and the one who plays the keyboard is Tuomas Holopainen. Tarja use to sing in the field of opera I think. There are a couple of good CDs out there that've made. Too bad all tours for the US are canceled this year.

Yeah, they're okay I guess. I've heard a couple of their songs and they're not that bad. Some of their stuff sounds great while others leave me thinking....WTF?

Heh, that's part of the reason I like them, I can assign my own meanings, images and eventually, stories to their music... plus the fact that it sounds pretty damned cool.

Hah, I remember my friend trying to disuade me from liking them, like 'No, you should like my music instead'... was funny XD

Oh well... what's your favourite Nightwish song? ^_^

I agree, that's why I like Nightwish, well more like love them really. It's nice to see finally some a couple of people who like them. My favorite song would have to be Wish I had an Angel, and um Nemo.

nemo and sleepwalker are 2 of my favourites... but that changes regularly XD there's so many good ones XD

Really? That's the first I've heard of it. Are they intending to carry on, or splitting up?

They are looking for a new singer. Actually the rest of the band kicked out the singer, she didn't leave on her own free will. Which I think is pretty stupid. Oh well, now she'll do solo stuff or join another band. Doesn't matter.

Oh magawd...I love Nightwish. And now that the singer's gone...I must needs boycott ze...stupid...heads...>.>

Creek Mary's Blood, Wish I had an Angel, and Nemo are mah favoriiite.

hmm, if you check nightwish.com, the reasons are pretty clear, like her saying that she doesn't need them anymore, and threatening that she could leave with only 1 day's notice

Yeah I've heard it too that NW kicked out Tarja. I don't know why the heck they did it, because now NW isn't NW anymore. Nightwish was only Nightwish with Tarja. ;__;

Too bad I won't be able to go to any of their concerts anymore though. But they have been starting to lose quality over the past year or two, so I guess it was only a matter of time that they'd collapse. Too bad though.
Oh well. I still have Within Temptation to worship :D *hugs them*

It'd be pretty cool if Tarja'd start solo stuff though. : )

My favourite songs are Walking in the Air, Sleepwalker, Stargazers, Crownless....and a few more. ^^;
