Anyone else know what a trump card is? I had the idea the other day to try to make an ACF deck XD

The values are based on my interpretation of your posts. And some are speculative. Like Cuteness. How would I know? Right?

Lol, as soon as my brain's functioning enough to work out all of the ideas.

For a brief sneak preview, thinking of having a variety of 'spam' cards as the 'power cards' for the deck, able to be used to activate certain powers, which in turn may effect certain statuses... for example, Emo :P

Anyway, and member that wishes to be included is more than welcome to be :P

As for HT's stats, they seem fine, unless anyone would care to argue them? Perhaps cuteness up to 8?

Anyway, I'll try to resolve all of the unfinished rules tonight, and then, no promises, you may get a post on them tomorrow... although It'd be nice to be able to talk to serrie about them XD

ahem, well, here we go then... these are the basics of the rules I've been working on... need some feedback for them too, and thinking of reworking some of them slightly... but, in any case:

The stats:

Insanity - How insane they're capable of being ( 1 - 10 )
Cuteness - How cute they normally are ( 1 - 10 )
Humour - How funny they are ( 1 - 10 )
Wisdom - How wise they are ( 1 - 10 )
Spam - How much they spam [outside of spam-o-rama of course] ( 1 - 10 )
FoS - How full of... uh... 'something'... they are ( 1 - 10 )
Diplomacy - How diplomatic they are, including trying to avoid hurting people's feelings ( 1 - 10 )
Joined - When they joined. (A date, in dd/mm/yy format)



The Rules:

There are 2 ways to play. The simple, regular 'top trump', and the rules worked on by serrie and I, which are ACFTrumps.



Top Trumps.


The pile of charactor cards is divided between the players.
The objective is to own them all.
To see who starts, use some fair method, such as tossing a coin.
The starting player looks at their top card, and chooses the stat in play.
The players then compare values.
The winner of the round takes back their card, plus their opponent's card, and both are placed at the bottom of the winner's deck.
The winner of the round then turns over their next card, and chooses the next stat in play.
In the event of a tie, the cards are put aside, and both go to the winner of the enxt round.



ACFTrumps.

Set Up

The charactor cards are shuffled, and 5 are dealt to each player, along with 3 'Spam' cards.
As in Top Trumps, the player to go first is fairly selected.


First Round

Each player now looks at their cards, and chooses which one will be used in the round.
If enough Spam cards are available, a skill may be invoked at this point.
The first player chooses the stat that is 'in play'.
The 2 player's compare the value of the stat 'in play'.
The difference is taken from the losing player's HP, except for join date.
All cards start with 20 HP.

The join dates: As it's hard to give a definitive HP difference for the join dates, the winner of the join date competition automatically activates either their offencive or defencive skill, without needing Spam cards.


example:

player A starts.

Chooses insanity.

Player A's card has insanity 7.

Player B's card has insanity 3

7 - 3 = 4

Player B's card takes 4 HP damage.

20 - 4 = 16

Player B's card has 16 HP left.


It may be a good idea to note down the HPs of all the cards.



Second Round [and all others afterwards]

A maximum of 7 Spam cards may be held at any one time.
At the beginning of the second, and all subsequent turns, up to 3 Spam cards are issued to each player, after that have discarded any unwanted ones.
Again, each player chooses which Charactor to use.
Again, if enough Spam cards are available, a Skill may be administered at this point.
Any 'special' Spam cards may now be put into play. [see examples at the end]
The winner of the last round chooses the 'In Play' stat for this round.
Again, the stats are compared, as with last time.
HP damage is calculated, and this continues until all 5 of one player's cards are taken out of action. [Or until someone goes off in a huff... whichever comes first ^_~ ]



Statuses [lasts for the next round that card is in play]

Emo - Deals half any damage done to the enemy to your own card [through attention seeking by wrist slitting :-P]
Mad Flamer - All attacks are settled against 'FoS' [e.g., even if the opponent chooses 'insanity', the value of their card's insanity is measured against your card's FoS.]
Mad Glomper - All attacks are settled against Cuteness [like 'Mad Flamer']
Mad Sensei - All attacks are settled against Wisdom [As in the other 'Mad' statuses]
Mad Hatter - All attacks are settled against Insanity [As above]
Mad Spammer - All attacks are settled against Spam [I'm sure you're getting the picture here XD]
Mad Peace Maker - All attacks are settled against Diplomacy [If you can't work THIS one out on your own, I don't think MENSA will be calling any time soon ^_~ ]
Lurker - Card is unable to be selected for THIS turn. [I.e. select a new Charactor card immediately]
N00b - No skill may be used by the opponent in the NEXT round.
1337 - +1 to whichever stat is In Play next turn.
Banned - Card is unable to be selected for this OR next turn [i.e. select a new card immediately, and do not use this card next turn]

Any other suggestions, as long as they're at least semi-funny will be considered





Spam Cards

There are several different kinds of spam cards, listed here in order of increasing rarity.

Random Spam - No effect whatsoever.
Normal Spam - worth 1 Spam-power point.
Power Spam - worth 2 spam-power points.
Status Inducing Spam - Can be used to induce the selected status either on your enemy, or on your own card.
Use Stat - Playing this card means that whichever stat is on it is automatically 'In Play'.
Duel Of Honour - Double damage for next round. If 'Join Date' is selected, this passes on to the next round.
Rant - 3 HP bonus damage done to loser of the round [even if 'Join Date' is selected]
Cleanup - Removes all Spam cards, for both players.
Serious Discussion - Winner of this round regains the amount of damage that would be inflicted on their enemy. [max is still 20 HP]
Calming Down - 1 HP damage automatically restored on your card.
Malicious Sniping - 1 HP damage automatically on opponent's card.




Odds and Ends

1. Only 1 Status may be in effect at any one time. The first status is taken, and any others applied after that are ignored.
2. A card's 'Inherent' skill, if any exist, does not need to be activated, and is in play at all times. For example: 'Inherent Skill - Immune to Emo' means that this card can never be under the effect of an emo status.
3. Only 1 Skill may be activated per round, of the card you have selected, either its offencive, or defencive skill.
4. If the Lurker or Banned status are activated before a player has a chance to select a skill, then they have the option to either choose the skill from that card, or from the card they replace it with.
5. Some Inherent Skills may actually do nothing, and exist for pure humour value XD

pick your 5 member cards at random.

choose a stat.

the difference between winner and loser's stat [samestat of course :P] is the damage incurred to the HP of that card...

although I'm thinking maybe you should just have 25 or something HP per player, less messing around that way
