Anime Review:: Excell Saga

I must tell about the absolute joy that arises when I hear the mere mention of Excell Saga, I immediately start day dreaming about Ilparazo-sama, the leader of the underground organization known as ACROSS bent on benevolent destruction of city F, well perhaps I'm a bit like the main character Excell, then again I can't say I have the fiery ginger hair- not that its a bad thing, nor the rather high and squeaky voice that could confuse a mouse ( is that hard you ask, you try and find out!)
Excell saga is a rather peculiar anime title which is most definitely a parody, nay there is no word to describe the flexibility of this series, its powerful, griping, funny, explosive, and even comes with its own emergency food supply, Menchi.
Excell saga is a combination of multiple story lines and incorporates a variety of different characters, scenarios and cameos. There is a wicked fusion of comedy that seems to change speed and direction with each different character and again spins off into its very own plot.
The basic plot line, (though that's not the point), is Excell continuous efforts to follow Lord Ilparazo-sama orders to capture the city and provenience named F. The various adventures appear as this zany and unpredictable character Excell and Hyatt- second member of across who has a tendency to 'stop living', get themselves in various predicaments, be it invasion of the cute, yet savagely deadly teddy bears, the pursuit of food or being captured by militant guerrilla groups that seem to live in the near by park/densely packed jungle foliage, with a rather large anaconda for company.
The comedy is bizarre and in my opinion unlike anything you'd see in the west, i.e. Britain and America, the comedy is so multi directional and different and it varies from different episodes, as you will find when the creator of Excell Saga will appear, announcing 'I hereby allow Excell saga to be turned into a sports anime, a love anime, a dating anime, a action anime and even an America anime. These little 'Skits' at the start of most episodes allow Excell Saga to attain a new sense of drama, genre whilst providing even more chaos to ensue (Don't worry, the cosmic galaxy known as I-chan will reset time if the plot seems to career off path). The different applicable genres helps to avoid the tiresome repetition of many an anime released whilst allowing for different humor and jokes to appear.
You may be wondering how this anime works? It's a good question, one that may take a fair amount of time to answer, so I'll give you the short version: There's only one episodes were there is no humor at all which effectively ties everything you've witnessed; the' delta attacked littering Japanese folk by the rather suspicious and familiar looking 'power rangers', the 85 year old wielding a chain gun, a big scary monster, lots of teddy bear squishing, 'suicidal west terriers', very suspicious guitar solos and enough innuendo to get your through the next millennia.
